Every season brings something different to see at Oxford Island - wintering wildfowl, spring wildflowers, summer butterflies and autumn seeds and berries. Lough Neagh Discovery Centre The perfect place to start your visit. Tourist and local information, café, toilets, local history and Christian heritage library, temporary museum and conservation exhibitions, growing area and conference facilities. A Birds Eye View! CROAGHAN HIDE AND SANDMARTIN NEST BANK Looks out towards the rocks and reeds of the far island. Cormorants, Terns and Goldeneye. WOODLANDS Mostly native trees. Woodland flowers such as Bluebells and Lords & Ladies. CLOSET VIEWING AREA Panoramic view across Closet Bay. Herons, Terns, Grebes and Mallard. DISCOVERY VIEWING AREA Good view across bay. Mute Swans, Coot and Mallard. KINNEGO HIDE Our best hide with great views of the reedbeds. Great Crested Grebes, Little Grebe and a range of ducks. ARTSPACE AND ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE BEE HIVES KINNEGO MEADOWS Colourful Vetches, Trefoils and Meadowsweet attract butterflies – Common Blues and Wood Whites. WATERSIDE VIEWING AREA Sheltered corner of the bay. Tufted duck, Goldeneye and Teal in winter.
