CPT. PEDRO VALDES

DETACHMENT COMMANDER SFC. KEVEN S. CLIETT

DETACHMENT SERGEANT

according to placement

during deployment, the

Outlaws will prove

themselves as they al-

ways do to be elite.

August came and is go-

ing fast, its time to

come to the realization

that we will be away for

9 months but as fast as

time flies, we will be

back soon so keep your

heads up Outlaws!

In the past few

weeks, the Out-

laws have gone

through different

bits of training and

continue to learn

new things about

preparation, mis-

sions and each

other! We have re-

ceived good re-

views recently and

that can be invigo-

rating to most! The

boost of morale

is much needed at

this time because

many who have

been deployed

can say that its

stressful. For

many of the Out-

laws, this is a first

deployment and

nervousness will

start to set in. But

we are here for

each other and

with the new

squads formed

Disbursing & DMO training

Once again Leader-

ship got together and

individually taught

the Outlaws about

Disbursing, DMO as

well as ECC.

Death by power-

point is not always a

true statement; we

received sufficient

training and took ad-

vantage of this op-

portunity to learn

from those who have

more experience.

With new Soldiers

and a new NCO on

our team, we gained

new perspectives

which can be re-

freshing. Motivation

is a key to success

and the Outlaws al-

ways show initiative

to learn!

MAJ Gavin O. Luher has passed on the duties as 106 FMCO Commander to MAJ Scott Francis. Anyone

who has met MAJ Luher knows that he is approachable, a good person and more importantly, a great leader.

The Change of Command Ceremony was a well planned event and the Outlaws were there for support as

we say farewell to MAJ Luher and welcome MAJ Francis, whom seems to be a good leader as well.

Central issue facility or CIF as most of know it has started

for the Outlaws! Many have already picked up their remaining equipment to gear up

for this deployment which is coming up fast on us! Whether it was plates or patches,

the Outlaws were squared away. Time to get into warrior mode!

As you walk through the gates of WLC it says overhead “ Enter to Learn” and thats exactly

what every Soldier does as he or she enters this facility to take that next step in getting closer to

become an NCO! Leaders taught by Leaders!

The Outlaws proudly welcome back SPC Hays, D. and SPC Jiang from WLC! They’ve put in

the hard work and time to pass this course exceedingly! We also congratulate SPC Hays on

making the Commandants list which goes to show that extra effort pays off! Both Soldiers did

very well and I believe I can speak for everyone when I say that we are proud of them and look

forward to see what they do in the future as leaders!

CERTEX! The Outlaws prepared for this week back in May and that preparation

paid off! The teams were set to service real scenarios while being graded. This

week long certification exercise was challenging as well as rewarding to many.

With new Soldiers coming in from other detachments, the Outlaws had to learn to

work in new teams! The teams on this CERTEX are set in stone, these are the

people who we will work with down range and everyone can agree that these

teams work well together!

As the Outlaws sat together along with MAJ Francis supervising us, we awaited

our final grade, all T! Way to go Outlaws for the outstanding job!
