Strainers

Removal of debris from fluid transfersystems is vitally important inprotecting the performance of pipelineequipment. Corrosion deposits, scale,jointing compounds and welding slag aswell as more unusual articles must betrapped and prevented from causingsystem contamination and subsequentproblems.

The ‘Y’ type design offers a reliable,cost effective means of equipmentprotection, minimising downtime andmaintenance costs.

Design of the Hattersley strainer isbacked by years of experience in fluid handling particularly in the field of strainer manufacture and under an approved Quality System to BS EN ISO 9001, a quality product is guaranteed.

ScreeningStraining is by the process of directinterception where the fluid passesthrough the perforation holes in the element the size of which are small enough to prevent passage of the particles.

The Hattersley screening element isconstructed from perforated stainlesssteel sheet in accordance with DEOSpec.036 requirements and isinherently stronger than weak meshtype elements which are susceptible tobreaching when partial blockage causesincreased pressure drop or collapsingunder transient vacuum conditions.
