TECHNICAL DATASHEETCONTOUR 100 – SELF CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS

DESCRIPTIONThe Scott Contour 100 is an open circuit, self-contained, compressed air breathing apparatus. It consists

of a back plate, unpadded carrying harness and pneumatic system, containing a cylinder connector,

reducer, pressure gauge, whistle and demand valve.

The Contour 100 can be configured in a number of different ways with various size single cylinders.

There are also a range of attachments available including Airline (AC), Split Demand Valve Coupling

(SDC), Rescue Second Man (RSM) and Decontamination (DC).

The Contour 100 is used in conjunction with a range of composite or steel cylinders and the choice of

Vision 3, Panaseal, Panavisor or Promask PP facemask.

APPLICATIONSThe Contour 100 is specifically designed as a Industrial Fire Fighting SCBA, but is also suitable for

providing respiratory protection in any IDLH environment.

Locate chin into the chin

pocket and hold the head

harness out of the way with

one hand while placing the

facepiece on the face with

the other hand. Ensure

facepiece seal to sit directly

on the skin.

by pulling the two lower

strap ends toward the

rear of the head

Stroke the head harness

net down the back of the

head using one or both

hands. Retighten the

neck straps.

Install regulator on facepiece

and open cylinder valve knob

1-1/2 turns counter-clockwise. Vibralert alarm on

regulator should sound

momentarily then shut-off.

Begin to breathe normally to

start the flow of air.

APPLICATION

RED LINE Wheeled Fire Extinguishers are manufactured to provideprotection for hazardous areas where the potential exists for large fires.They can be strategically located to provide maximum protection for

a wide variety of hazards, while taking up a minimum of space, andrequiring only one trained person for operation.

These extinguishers are available with three types of ANSUL dry chemi-cal extinguishing agents giving them the versatility to protect many typesof fire hazards.

This wheeled extinguisher is completely self-contained. An attachednitrogen cylinder is the only pressure source required to completelyexpel the fire extinguishing agent. The pressure remaining in the tankafter operation is sufficient for cleaning dry chemical from the dischargehose.

Some typical applications include paint spray booths, dip and quenchtanks, offshore platforms, loading racks, fuel storage areas, airports, andheavy manufacturing operations.

DESCRIPTION

Agent Tank – The extinguisher tank is manufactured of welded steelconstruction with two elliptical dished heads and welded circumferentialseams. The tank is designed and constructed for a working pressure of250 psi (17.2 bar). The top of the tank is fitted with a 4 in. (10 cm) ID fillopening. The tank head has a brass bodied safety relief with burstingdisc which will vent at approximately 425 psi (29.3 bar).

Nitrogen Cylinder and Valve – The nitrogen cylinder is mountedin a vertical position and permits easy access. Volumes are 23 cu ft(0.65 m3) for the 150-D and 55 cu ft (1.55 m3) for the 350-D. Both sizesare Medical “E” nitrogen cylinders.

Each cylinder is equipped with a conventional hand wheel nitrogen cylin-der valve and visual pressure gauge. A quick-opening valve is availableas an option. Both valves are UL/ULC Iisted.

Hoses, Valves and Nozzles – The extinguisher is equipped withcadmium-plated brass couplings. The nitrogen hose assembly is 3/8 in.

(10 mm) ID with zinc-plated brass couplings.

The nozzle consists of a two-position ball valve and barrel. The nozzlebarrel is a converging-diverging aluminum type. The nozzle ball valveassembly is chrome-plated brass.

Nameplates – The nameplate is glare-resistant etched aluminum, andcontains hazard identification plus operating and maintenanceinstructions.

Finish – In addition to the standard surface preparation procedures, thesteel parts are primed using a corrosion resistant epoxy primer. The topcoat is a polyester epoxy paint applied as a liquid and oven or air cured.The dry film is continuous and a minimum thickness of 5-7 mils. The fillcap and nozzle body are black anodized for added corrosion resistance.

Temperature – Standard models are equipped with nitrogen cylin-

ders which are listed and approved for operation in environments withtemperatures between –40 °F to 120 °F (–40 °C to 48.8 °C).

Low Temperature – LT models: –65 °F to 120 °F (–54 °C to 48.8 °C).

Simple operation and maintenance.

Portable, compact design.

Non-corrosive, non-conductive, clean extinguishing agent leaves noresidue.

The steel shell has a fluted base design which resists corrosion for alonger service life.

Lightweight aluminum shell also available.

Both steel and aluminum models are available in 5, 10, 15 and 20pound sizes (2.3, 4.5, 6.8, 9.1 kg).

All models are UL listed. Aluminum models are also ULC listed.

Five, 10, and 15 pound models with heavy duty vehicle brackets areU.S. Coast Guard approved for marine use. Most other manufactur-ers’ brackets do not meet Coast Guard requirements.

Operating temperature range is –22 °F to 120 °F (–30 °C to 49 °C).

Six year limited warranty.

ANSUL Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguishers are designed to protectareas where Class B (flammable liquids and gases) or Class C (ener-gized electrical equipment) fires could occur. They may be used indoorswhere winds and drafts do not affect discharge or where a clean extin-

1. The easy grip handle provides non-slip holding and quick activationof the extinguisher.

2. The ring pin and visual seal help prevent unwanted discharge ofthe extinguisher. If the extinguisher is tampered with, the visualseal self-destructs, making detection of tampering easy. Metal ringpins are designed to help prevent accidental discharge if the extin-guisher is dropped or mishandled.

workmanship for one year from shipment. In the event of such defects, we will, at our sole option and

as your exclusive remedy, repair or replace the defective product without charge, or refund the price
