Some statistics that are not surprising include the two main issues keeping people awake at night being Personal Finances and Emotional Happiness. There was close alignment between males and females in almost every aspect of What They Look Forward To except for "Have a Few Drinks" which was twice as popular for males compared to females. For question 6 there was a marked difference to answers across age groups - probably to be expected. Question 7 also saw a marked difference in responses across age groups. For those who said they would travel to another country the split was males 62% and females 58%. The regional split of those intending to travel was 89% of Western Europeans, 86% of Oceanians, 74% of North Americans, 60% of North Asians and 55% of South Asians. Some responses that are surprising include that 33% of those under 18 do not feel optimistic that 2014 will be a good year. The least optimistic region overall was the Middle East (perhaps not surprising) with only 50% being optimistic and they were followed by Western Europeans and South Americans each with 33% not being optimistic. Twice as many females as males worry about Emotional Happiness, the Environment and Getting Old and males are 3 times more concerned than females about Access to Healthy Food. Only 66% of females over 60 felt that they would have a good year in 2014.
