INSTRUCTION FOR OPERATION OF REVERSER & CTF
REVERSER CTF
I. RECOGNITION : Reverser ( J-1 / J-2 )has two positions marked as F / R. CTF has two positions marked as TR / BR. Reverser ( J-1 / J-2 ) has a locking pin on one side. There is no locking pin on CTF.
II. WORKING :REVERSER ( J-1 / J-2 ) HANDLE

III. TROUBLE SHOOTING :SN DEFECT / ABNORMAL SIGN REMEDIAL ACTION1. On putting MPJ F / R LSB not extinguished. Operate MPJ handle F/R . Ensure EP COC open in HT compartments. Ensure proper setting of both
Reverser & CTFs. Operate them manually, Wedge Q-50.2. LSB glows continuously after DBR application. Ensure handles of all CTF in traction ( UP ). Operate 2-3 times manually. Try to resume traction if
succeed ignore LSB.3. Reverser power contact are flashed / welded. Isolate reverser by isolating corresponding RSI block & wedged Q-50 & refer TSD for further action.
IV. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS :1. If EP valve stuck up / not picking then operate EP valve manually 2-3 times, set J1, J2 & CTFs by handle. Do not open EP valve terminal wire connection
unless CCPT fuse melting trouble exists.2. In case of master MPJ handle, ensure twice that shaft of MPJ is in neutral ( Zero ) before manual operation of Reverser.3. In case of energizing a DEAD loco, ensure both reverser have been unlock and kept them normal. Plus ensure HT-1 2 EP COC are open.4. Do not wedged Q-50 without prior ensurance of proper setting of all reverser & CTFs.5. Also refer WAG5 TSD in detail.
