Events of that Day• 8:46- American Airlines Flight 11 Crashes into 1 World
Trade Tower– 92 people were on board
• 9:03- United Airlines Flight 175 Crashes into 2 World Trade Tower– 65 people on board
• 9:25- FAA Closes all Air Traffic• 9:40- American Airlines Flight 177 Crashes into
Pentagon– 65 people on board
• 9:45- FAA orders all flights to land at nearest airports
Event’s Cont.
• 9:59- World Trade Tower 2 Collapses• 10:07- United Airlines Flight 93 Crashes into a
field in Shanksville, PA– 44 people on board
• 10:28- World Trade Tower 1 Collapses• 2 pm Sept. 12- Limited Air Traffic is allowed– Diverted flights allowed to go to original
destinations– Over 24 hours with no airlines in the skies
The Impact
• 2,993 People were killed– Victims from 90 different nations
• At no time in history was the world supporting a single nation as that day
• NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) declares attacks as an attack on NATO– All NATO nations will support US in retaliation
