SAVING OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY 1. Installing of ‘Capacitors Bank’. Installed of Capacitors Bank at LVMDP Panel will be reduced Reactive Power, Release Apparent Power from Source and reduced electrical losses. Minimum Power Factor permitted by PLN is 0.85 Lag, then when Power Factor less than minimum value will be penalty charged by PLN (in kVarh per Month). It will be saving of electrical energy and cost. 2. Using of better quality of ‘Air Conditioner Refrigerant’. Using the better quality of Refrigerant or using “DuPont” Refrigerant brand will be Reduced of current consumed by air conditioner compressor (usually used brand of Refrigerant R22). It will be saving of electrical energy. 3. Using of Higher ‘Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER)’ of Air Conditioner. 7. Turning ‘Electrical Equipment OFF’ when unused.

By turn some equipment OFF when unused, it will be saving of electrical energy.

Example, some of Elevators, Cooling Towers, Circulation Pumps of Pool, Basement

Exhaust Fans, Computers and Pumps.

Usually using Timer to turn ON/OFF electrical equipment.

8. Using of “Duplex System” of Elevators.

When There are more than two Elevators, it will be better using “Duplex System” than

“Simplex System” of Elevators, it will be saving of electrical energy.

9. Using of ‘Higher Efficiency’ of Motor.

Every Pump using Motor as prime mover, then it will be better using motor with Higher

Efficiency cause it will be saving of electrical energy.

10. Using of ‘Inverter Technology of Split Air Conditioner’.

By using of Inverter Split Air Conditioner is more efficient than Conventional Split Air

Conditioner.

Inverter technology using DC Twin Rotary Compressor then energy consumption will be

50 percent reduced.

And operation of compressor will be depended to the load.

Therefore it will be saving of electrical energy.

11. Replacing of Air Conditioner of ‘Refrigerant R22’ to ‘Refrigerant R134a’.

Suction Pressure of Compressor with Refrigerant of R22 is 60 PSIG, but R134a is 30 PSIG

Therefore running Load Ampere of Compressor with Refrigerant R22 is higher than

R134a. Using of Refrigerant R134a will be saving of electrical energy.

12. Setting of ‘Air Conditioner Thermostat’.

By Right setting of Thermostat then The Air Conditioner will be operated on effective

Condition and accordance with ambient temperature. It will be saving of electrical

Energy (usually set on 25°C).

13. Operating of ‘Cooling Tower’ accordance with Ambient Temperature.

Operated of Cooling Tower should be accordance with ambient temperature, therefore

Less of Cooling Tower operating on night (cool weather) then daylight (hot weather).

It will be saving of electrical energy.

14. Setting of ‘Cold Storage Thermostat’.

When cold storage is keeping vegetables in storage therefore it should be right setting

Of cold storage thermostat. It will be saving of Electrical Energy.

Below zero degree of Celsius, it won’t be saving of electrical energy.

(Usually setting on 5°C).

15. Setting of ‘Freezer Thermostat’.

When freezer is keeping Meat, Cheese and Fish in Storage therefore if quantity of half

Volume then setting of Thermostat should be right. It will be saving of electrical

Energy.

Setting of Freezer Thermostat for Full Volume is different with Half Volume.

16. Replacing of ‘Water Cooled’ to ‘Air Cooled’ Chiller.

When space is available, then using air cooled water chiller will be saving of electrical

Energy than water cooled water chiller.

Air cooled water chiller don’t need cooling tower, therefore it will be saving of electrical

Energy.

17. Using of ‘Key Tag’ to Turn Off and On Equipment.

Guest room should be used Key Tag to turn off and on all Equipment when guest leave

Or arrived the room. It will be saving of electrical energy.

Right selection of Pump and Motor will be saving of Electrical Energy.

Right selection of Active Power of Motor (kW) and Total Head (m) also Water Flow (mᶟ)

20. Energy Consumption Intensity (ECI).

Energy Consumption Intensity (ECI) is Ratio between Total Electrical Consumption

(kWh) to Wide of Area (m²).

Room with air conditioner, ECI ≤ 12 will be efficient.

Room without air conditioner, 1.67 ≤ ECI ≤ 2.5 will be efficient.

Higher efficiency will be fewer losses, then it will be saving of electrical energy.

21. When Operating of Air Conditioner.

While The Air Conditioner is working then,

a. Door and Window should be closed.

b. Temperature of Air Conditioner should be not too low.

c. Filter of Air Conditioner is not dirty.

d. Refrigerant pipe isn’t Leakage condition.

e. Remote Control is good function.

Then all the things will be saving of electrical energy.

22. Lighting Lamp.

a. Lighting lamps are Operation when unused.

b. Too many lighting lamps are in used.

higher current (dirty on propeller).

25. Placement of Outdoor Unit of Split Air Conditioning.

Reduced of Compressor operation then placement of outdoor unit of split air

Conditioning should be not direct from sun shine, then it will be saving of electrical

energy.
