PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Education Week is next week, Monday 5-9 August, and it is a time for everyone in our schools – and all those who support our schools - to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the impact of public education. We invite members of our school community to celebrate Education Week by enjoying student performances on Tuesday 6 August from 10:20am at the Marketplace. Our school chess team will also be competing on Thursday 8 August. Come help us celebrate! Our school Open Day will be on Tuesday 6 August at 12.00pm to 2:00pm and Book Fair open throughout the week. Parents are invited to share with students their learning journey and visit classrooms to view their quality work, and then eat lunch with students. Parents and friends are also invited to visit the library to purchase books from the Scholastic Book Fair (further information provided in this Bulletin). All students are participating in the Footsteps Dance Program this week. The Footsteps Dance company will hold a disco in the school hall, after school on Thursday 1 August for Kindergarten to Year 2 from 5-6pm and Years 3-6 from 6-7.00pm for students to try out their new dance moves. We welcome this term, Tania King. Tania will be delivering dance instruction to every class on Thursday and Friday. Each class routine will be showcased during a concert at the end of the term. Further information will be provided, as we get closer to the date. I would like to ask families that intend on enrolling their child in kindergarten for 2020 to get your enrolment forms in NOW! A panel will be meeting at the beginning of Week 7 to finalise applications, with letters of acceptance sent during Week 8. A revised enrolment policy has been issued to all NSW Public Schools, and will come into effect Term 4 this year. More information about this change will appear in next week’s newsletter. The students have enjoyed using our new seating, we will endeavour to purchase more over the coming months and ‘retire’ the old seating that has definitely seen better days! Pictured right is Navy class enjoying their lunch using the new seating. Have a fabulous week. Trudy Standley Acting Principal
FOOTSTEPS DANCE AND DISCO EVENING Footsteps Dance Program has commenced! There will be a school dance on Thursday
night, run over two sessions: K-2 (5.00-6.00pm) and Years 3-6 (6.00-7.00pm). The cost
of entry for each student is $5 payable at the door and includes a glow stick. So as not
to interrupt dinner routines, we won’t be selling food or drinks, however, students will
have access to the bubblers if they break a sweat with their new dance moves!
Students will need to be dropped off and collected by a responsible adult for this
event.
