8 Days 7 Nights Istanbul(12 March – 19 March 2011) * School Holidays*

Day 1 - Arrival in Istanbul

• As we say in Turkey, HOS GELDINIZ! Welcome to Turkey. We will meet you at theairport and transfer you to your hotel.

• After a short briefing about your tour you will have the afternoon free to rest and exploreIstanbul on your own.

• Overnight in ISTANBUL.

Day 2 - Istanbul - (B/L) This will be a full day of exploring the historical sites of Istanbul.Sites you’ll see today :

• Blue Mosque--World renown for its architecture and focal point for worshipping Muslims.

• Haghia Sophia--1,400 year old supreme church from Byzantium times which housesfamous Byzantine Mosaics.

• Byzantine Hippodrome-The focal point of the Byzantine Empire during the reign of Constantine. Within it’s center you will see the Egyptian Obelisk and Serpentine Column.

• Topkapi Palace--the residence and leadership center of the Sultans during the OttomanEmpire. It was built in 1459-1465 shortly after the conquest of Constantinople. You will see theTreasury that includes the Topkapi Dagger, the 86 carat Spoon Maker’s Diamond, and the jewelencased bones of St. John the Baptist’s skull and arm bone.

• Suleymaniye Mosque and the Grand Bazaar will also be visited during the tour.

Day 3 - Istanbul - (B) This will be a half day of exploring the historical sites of Istanbul :

• Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar), Mystical smells of different aromas of various spices.Shops selling fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish etc.

• Bosporus Cruise, thorough the waterway separating the two continents, Europe and Asia,with a possibility to take photographs of marble palaces, ancient wooden villas of Ottoman

architecture besides modern residential of luxurious apartments.• After the tour we will leave you at the grand Bazaar and give you free time to explore andsome souvenir shopping.

• Overnight stay in Istanbul

Day 4 - Istanbul - (B/L)

• At 0900, you will be picked up from your hotel and we will drive down to golden Horn, after a 20 minute drive we will stop to see the Chora Church, then we will drive up to Cafe Pier lotti,after a nice cup of Tea we will scroll down to Minia Turk, then we will head back to old city for Lunch, after lunch we will provide a transfer to your hotel.

• The Eyup Sultan Mosque: is situated in the district of Eyüp on the European side of Istanbul, near the Golden Horn, outside the Walls of Constantinople. Built in 1458, it was the firstmosque constructed by the Ottoman Turks following their conquest of Constantinople in 1453.

The mosque rises next to the place where Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, the standard-bearer of the Islamicprophet Muhammad, is said to have been buried during the Arab assault on Constantinople in670. His tomb is greatly venerated by Muslims, attracting many pilgrims. Some of the personalbelongings of Muhammad are preserved in the tomb..

• Cafee Pierlotti : On the hills of the Golden Horn, a beautiful places where you can enjoythe view of the Golden Horn, and on the drive up, you can see local residential neighbor hoods of Istanbul.

• Minia Turk : Miniatürk is a miniature park in Istanbul, Turkey. It was opened May 2, 2003.Miniatürk covers a total area of 60.000 m². It is the world's largest miniature park with its 15.000 m²model area. Miniatürk has 40.000 m² of open space, 3.500 m² of covered area, 2.000 m² of poolsand waterways, and a parking lot with a capacity of 500 vehicles.

• After the tour we will return to the hotel, Overnight stay in Istanbul

Day 5 - Istanbul - (B)

• After breakfast you will have a full free day to explore Istanbul at your own pace

Day 8 - Istanbul to Home - (B)

• Gule, Gule! It is time to go home. We will transfer you to the airport and wish you well, askingthat you keep Turkey in your hearts and hoping that our paths cross again in this life!
