Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers (RFOV) is dedicated to promoting stewardship of public lands by engaging the community in volunteer trail and restoration projects from Aspen to Rifle. Now in its 19th season, RFOV’s impact is growing beyond the Public Projects program they have become known for. The Group Work Day & Adopt-a-Trail program allows groups such as clubs, schools and businesses engage in volunteer service projects that tackle smaller projects on specific trails, parks or river-front parcels. RFOV also involves hundreds of youth in hands-on conservation projects so they experience the satisfaction that comes from the hard work of accomplishing a community project. In its third year, the Young Stewards Initiative includes several programs that aim to develop life-long sense of stewardship for our public lands in today’s youth. RFOV’s summer-long Climb for Trails event encourages individuals and teams to hike, bike or run on their favorite trails while raising money for trail and restoration projects.
