Feature highlights:

The Videophone is designed to avoid complicated installation. And with thebuttons on the keypad, you are able to access the user-friendly on screendisplay menu (OSD), easily control the functions and make adjustments.

The has a built-in high quality CCD camera and an active matrixliquid crystal display. Images are transmitted through the Internet at up to 24frames per second (fps) . While making a video call, youcan enjoy the brilliant real-time color images of yourself, yourcorrespondents or both. If you do not want your image to display on thecaller or receiver's screen, The 's private mode can do just that.

The is fully compliant with H.323 international standards forvideo communication. It can be used with any video phone that arecompatible with this standard.

Mute/Redial:During a video call, thisbutton is used to mutethe audio so that you willnot be heard by the otherparty on the phone; whenthere is no connection, toredial the IP address/number* last dialed.

Hot Keys

View:To select how localand remote video isdisplayed on the screen.The options are: Remote,PIP upper-left, PIPlower-left, PIP upper-right, PIP lower-right,Local. And it switchesin that sequence.

Cursor Panel

Used with OSD menus; to movethe cursor right or to enter the submenu. During a video call, used toraise the incoming video bit rate.

Inputting numbers

Pressing any key on the numeric keypad can input the

correspondent number.

For example, pressing will generate the number

Inputting letters

Every button on the numeric keypad has characters printed

on it, in addition to the numbers. Number keys from " 2 " to "

9 " have English letters on them, so they can be used to input English letters.

When inputting data, pressing a key consecutively will generate the letters on it.

For example, has the number " 7 " and the alphabets " PQRS " on it.

Pressing this key once will generate the number " 7 ".

Pressing this key twice consecutively will generate the letter " P ".

Pressing this key three times consecutively will generate the letter " Q ".

Pressing this key four times consecutively will generate the letter " R ".

Pressing this key five times consecutively will generate the letter " S ".

And it will cycle in such order.

3 Installation

Step 1 Pick a good spot

Prolonging the lifespanAvoid storing or operating in abnormal conditions.High temperatures or excessive humidity could cause the unit tomalfunction and shorten its useful lifespan.

Connect the handset and the Videophone main unit with handsetcable.

Step 3 Connect the Ethernet cable

Plug one end of the Ethernet cable in the jack marked "WAN" onVideophone. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable in the RJ-45jack of the Internet device (hub, router, or ATU-R).

Connect the Ethernet cableto the Internet device.

Avoid having lights behind you thatmight shine into the camera lens.

Do not point the Videophone at amirror or bright light.

Keep a distance of 0.5 meters awayfrom Videophone.

Make sure of the most appropriatelighting source, preferably from thefront with the beam on your face.

4 Making a Call

Here are a few things you need to consider before making a video call.

Use the self-view image to get the best shot ofyourself.

Adjust the hue and brightness of the screen for bestimage.

Avoid having a lotof movement in thebackground and trynot to move aroundexcessively. Toomuch movementtends to slow downthe frame rate ofthe video image,resulting in a jerkypicture.

IP Address, Netmask and Gateway for the phone unit will beprovided by a DHCP server. The typical case for this selection is whenthe phone is connected to a router which includes a DHCP server.

A user enters the IP Address, Netmask and Gateway. The typicalcase for this selection is when the user wants to assign a public and staticIP to the phone unit.

The IP address to be used in receiving calls is specified in the IPAddress field above. The typical case for this selection is when the IPaddress is public and static, therefore, reachable directly from theInternet.

The IP address to be used in receiving calls can be found in thePublic IP Address menu (see page 19). The typical case for this selectionis when a phone is connected to a router which performs a NAT function.Your ISP assigns a public IP address to your router. By using this publicIP address, your phone is reachable directly from the Internet.

The user name is displayed when the phone rings.

Phone # is another way for someone to call your phone. To use thePhone # feature, your phone must be registered successfully to aGatekeeper with your desired phone #. Gatekeeper is set up in theGatekeeper menu .(see page 18)

Choices are 128, 256, 384, 512, 640 Kbps. The Outgoing NetworkBandwidth refers to the total bandwidth speed for your broadbandconnection from your location to Internet. It is also known as the Uploador Upstream speed. You should select a speed to match your broadbandnetwork, For example, if you have a DSL with 128 Kbps upload speed,select 128 Kbps here. Note the Outgoing and Incoming speeds do nothave to be the same.

Choices are 128, 256, 384, 512, 640 Kbps. The Incoming NetworkBandwidth refers to the total bandwidth speed for your broadbandconnection from Internet to your location. It is also known as theDownload or Downstream speed. You should select a speed to matchyour broadband network, For example, if you have a DSL with 1.5 Mbpsdownload speed, select 640 Kbps here. Plug power adapter in thepower outlet in the wall.

Aim the Videophone at astrong white light sourcemomentarily.

Increase the room light level.

Video in local view has a red cast

Hang up and call again.

Make sure the remote videophone is compatible withH.323 standard.

Ask the other party call you.

Video connection is notestablished correctly

Probable cause is badconnection (noisy line). Hangup and try again. This time,ask the other party to call you.
