Susannah Cowart joined Hometown in April 2013 as Customer Relations Coordinator for the Florida Division. A native of Tifton, Georgia, she attended Abraham Baldwin College and continued to Brenau Women’s College in Gainesville, Georgia. Serving in a critical access hospital for 8 years, Susannah has diverse healthcare experience in materials management, marketing and community relations. Susannah

and her husband, Jake, currently reside in Lake Placid, Florida.

Sandy Sage, RN is a Revenue Cycle Analyst. She has been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years. Her clinical experience includes both Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical nursing. Since 2001 Sandy has been analyzing charging and reimbursement as a clinical liaison between the medical and accounting sides of hospitals. She now works as a consultant for rural hospitals doing revenue cycle staff training, revenue cycle department audits, charge master management and reimbursement analysis. She is the Team Lead for the 2015-16 Rev Up Your Reveue Cycle GA/FL SHIP grants. Educating hospital employees and helping them understand the revenue cycle is her passion in her professional life. Sandy lives in Cochran, GA. She has two grown daughters, the youngest still in college. She enjoys traveling and spending

time with family.

Meghan Williams is the Customer Relations Coordinator for HomeTown Health University. Meghan joined the HTHU staff in May 2012 and is responsible for coordinating social media for HomeTown Health & HTHU, website development and maintenance, education reporting for sub-scribers, education course review, as well as coordination of sales/marketing/retention for HTHU. After graduating from Early County High School in Blakely, GA, Meghan completed a B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Georgia. Meghan’s career in healthcare began as a Human Resources Director in southwest Georgia where she was responsible for all aspects of employee relations, payroll/benefits, workers compensation, annual education development and training, as well as serving as the HIPAA Compliance Officer. She also served as an active member of the hospital authority’s volunteer group. Meghan lives with her husband, Michael, and daughters, Hayley and Bowen, in Bluffton, GA. Together their family comprises Clearwater Ministries, a faith-based ministry, and serve at Bluffton

Baptist Church.

Kerry Dunning has over 28 years in the health care industry, with over 20 specifically working with long term care. She worked for national rehabilitation chains in varied roles including Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, she was employed by HCA and HealthTrust hospitals in administrative positions. Kerry has experience with start-up units/facilities, programs beginning Medicare services, therapy program operations and billing, ongoing management of hospital business office operations and skilled facility operations, and in 100-day turn around programs centered on cost reduction, cost avoidance and revenue enhancement. As a consultant, Kerry has worked with swing beds (including CAH), freestanding and hospital-owned long term care facilities. Kerry has served as an educator for hospital and LTC associations, hospital associations and for CAH associations. Kerry lectures internationally on skilled nursing services and therapy services, most recently at six universities in China where she is part of a University of North Florida team working on research related to the use of tradi-

tional Chinese medicine techniques in western rehabilitation settings. She is on the Editorial Board for Rehab Management Magazine.

Dale Gibson started his own Medicare consulting business in 1997, and is now well-known among HomeTown Health network as theMedicare Expert. . Dale began his healthcare care in 1980 as a Business Office Manager for a large hospital in Fort Walton Beach, FL that was part of Humana. He briefly worked for HHL in Miami Florida in 1989, before returning to Humana as a Corporate Consultant for Business Offices. In 1993, he became a Medicare Consultant through a merger with HCA. Dale completed his B.S. from Troy State University. He resides in Pensacola, Florida. Dale currently provides HTH members with timely Medicare Webinar updates monthly and with Medicare billing and

collections support.

Phoebe Irvine has served in various financial roles in the healthcare environment for over 25 years. Her vast experience includes central scheduling, registration, business office, collections, medical necessity, appropriate reimbursement system conversions and implementations. Prior to joining Envision in 2011, she was the System Patient Financial Services Director and Director of Implementation Services for Medhost (formerly HMS), Phoebe has the overall responsibility for revenue cycle management for Envision and its affiliated subsidiaries.Phoebe also consults with other healthcare facilities to assist them with the challenges and opportunities in each stage of their revenue cycle process. She provides a total operations assessment from financial to clinical and provides a complete report with recommended priorities. Phoebe also

provides consulting services in regards to system conversions and implementations.

Rebecca Corzine Tarr, RN, MBA, CPA has over 25 years of experience in health care, which includes 22 years in Revenue Cycle / Case Management at four different acute care hospital systems. She is currently the Owner, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of MedPerformance, a Revenue Cycle Consulting Company that specializes in denials and appeals through software and consulting ser-vices. Prior to forming MedPerformance, she was the Associate Vice President, Revenue Cycle, at a multi-hospital system in Florida for over six years. At this system, she had administrative responsibilities for Managed Care, Centralized Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Patient Registra-tion, Health Information Systems, Clinical Documentation Program, Case Management, Appeals and Denials, CDM, Revenue Integrity, and Patient Financial Services. She has both for profit and not for profit health care experience and during this same time period, she was an ad-junct faculty member at the University of South Florida, College of Business, where she taught in the Finance Department for over 20 years. Ms. Tarr received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Loyola University in Chicago, a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Mas-ters in Business Administration from the University of South Florida with a concentration in Finance. She also has postgraduate hours in ac-counting and finance. Mrs. Tarr holds both a Florida CPA and RN license, is married and lives in Valrico, Florida. She has three grown children

and five wonderful grandchildren.

Michele Madison is a partner in the firm’s Healthcare Practice, where she provides general legal advice to health systems in various regulatory and business matters. She also works with information technology companies and advises clients on compliance with regulations and industry standards. Michele has specific experience in negotiating contractual agreements between healthcare providers and service providers, inter-preting and advising health systems on regulations applica ble to the healthcare industry, and providing regulatory advice with a focus on Stark, Anti-Kickback and HIPAA. She also has key experience and expertise in Compliance programs providing advice for compliance with state and federal regulations and regularly drafts and negotiates agreements with hospitals, physicians, managed care organizations and ancillary ser-vice providers, as well as contractual agreements for vendors with an emphasis on information technology, purchasing and lease agreements. Michele also works with electronic medical record vendors and personal health record providers. She is a graduate of Georgia State University

and The University of Georgia School of Law.

Evelyn Leadbetter joined the HomeTown Health Florida Division in December, 2014. A native of Dahlonega, Georgia, Evelyn completed her Bachelors in Business Administration at the University of North Georgia, as well as her Masters in Public Administration and Disaster Management at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. She also continued her graduate studies in Disaster Management at the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Emergency Management Institute. Her experience in healthcare, emergency preparedness and community support has enabled her to better serve as the Network Services Manager for HomeTown Health’s Florida Division. As an advocate for rural health growth, development and sustainability, Evelyn also collaborates with HomeTown Health University in the successful development and implementation of a Disaster Management Program; facilitating disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery education throughout

rural healthcare environments. Evelyn recently relocated to Brunswick , GA with her husband, Ray, and daughter, Ellenoir.

Craig Wilson served in the US Coast Guard for 7 years in Hawaii, Alaska and Florida as a Law Enforcement Boarding Officer and small boat captain. He worked for the STD Control and Healthy Start Programs at the Pinellas County Health Department in St Petersburg for 14 years. Craig relocated to North Florida as Program Manager for Healthy Start in Jefferson and Madison Counties in 2007. He assumed oversight for the Abstinence Program and Community Health Planning and Accreditation activities for Jefferson and Madison Counties prior to starting his current position as Director of the State Office of Rural Health in April 2015. Craig and his wife, Amy, recently celebrated their 25th anniversary, and are the proud parents of a 17 year old son. Craig has been a mentor for at-risk boys for 12 years, andhe and Amy are licensed foster par-

ents who currently have a 3 year old boy and his 1 year old sister.

Randy Calvert has recently joined the Florida Department of Health as the Flex Program Coordinator. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Florida International University. Mr. Calvert has over 27 years of healthcare executive experience, with the major-ity of that experience at the Chief Financial Officer level of acute care hospitals. He has a wide range of experience that includes working in large, small, urban, and rural hospitals in ten states as well as experience with home health agencies, ambulatory surgery centers, long-term nursing facilities, emergency medical services, and physician practices. He has been involved in numerous healthcare startup ventures as well

as financial turn-around projects. Mr. Calvert enjoys all outdoor activities and is a licensed private pilot.

Prior to founding SLG, Inc., a national chargemaster coding, standardization, and billing compliance consulting firm, in 1998, she was the Senior Chargemaster Specialist at Tenet HealthSystem’s corporate office in Nashville, Tennessee (formerly OrNda HealthCorp) responsible for chargemaster standardizations and reviews at more than one hundred facilities across the country, and for more than 13 years held various financial and system management positions at Lourdes Hospital, part of the Ascension Health system, in Binghamton, New York. Sarah is an active member of both the North Carolina chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (NCHFMA), having served as past Membership Council Chair on the Board of Directors (2002-2004), past-Chair of the Hospital Services Committee, and of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), having served in various capacities, including National Advisory Board member (2002-2005) and President, for the Triangle North Carolina local chapter. Additionally, Sarah was a consulting editor for The Coding Institute, Naples, Florida, from 2003-2008, and until August 2009, served on the Board of Governors for the American College of Medical Coding Specialists (ACMCS). For the years 2006-2007, Sarah was named Executive of the Year in Coding and Compliance by Cambridge (formerly Empire) Who’s Who. Colleen Wood joined RealMed, a company acquired by Availity, in June 2002 where she has held positions in both Operations and Sales. Ms. Wood directs and oversees Availity’s revenue cycle business development and strategy for the Eastern United States. She oversees a sales team responsible for a 26 state area sharing solutions to help hospitals and provider groups leverage technology solutions to drive health busi-nesses. Prior to joining Availity/RealMed, Ms. Wood served as a Regional Healthcare Administrator with Duke University Health System where she oversaw the business operations for approximately one third of the community medical network of multiple medical practices in varying specialties. Ms. Wood has also served as a healthcare administrator in private practices and as a business and management consultant with Management Directions of North Carolina serving academic medical centers and private practices. She is retired from the United States Air

Force. Ms. Wood earned a B.S.B.A. from Methodist University and a M.B.A. from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, NC.

Kirby Yawn received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Terry College of Business with a focus in Management. Kirby was hired by the Sea Island Company upon graduation. Kirby served many roles in management of this large resort, including managing 140+ staff mem-bers of the Beach Club, dining rooms, and room service. Utilizing his extensive management skills and professional service, Kirby accepted a position with the Sea Island Real Estate division, selling over 21 million dollars of real estate in just his second year. While working with Sea Island, Kirby was a graduate of Leaders 21, a leadership and management course taught by the Sea Island Company. In 2006, Kirby was elected to participate in Leadership Glynn County, then elected to serve on the St. Simons/Sea Island Advisory Board to the Glynn County Chamber of Commerce. A highlight of Kirby’s career at Sea Island was the opportunity to assist in hosting the world at the 2004 G8 Summit. In 2008, Kirby and his wife Sara bought a franchise business in the document destruction industry. In just 6 months they were able to grow and sell their business to a Private Equity Firm in Knoxville, Tennessee. After selling their business, Kirby and Sara moved to Augusta to work with Mr. Allgood in building and developing Allgood Professional Services. Kirby is responsible for the growth and development of Allgood Profes-sional Services and assists in the day to day operations of the business. Recently, Kirby completed the IronMan 70.3 in Orlando, Florida. Kirby and Sara are members of Augusta Country Club and the Augusta Historical Society.
