Food Pantry/Outreach News “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” The Spirit of life Food Pantry Outreach Ministry continues to be a generous expression of love to our neighbors in need while affirming God’s love regardless of their circumstances. There are a multitude of ways to be a part of this mission such as; volunteering your time, offering prayers, donating financial resources, food, baby items, household items and furniture. Everyone has something to give, and although we may never know the specific impact this could make for someone else, we can be sure that it will, indeed, make an impact; sparking hope in those who need it most. I challenge every one of you to think about volunteering your time even for just one day to personally experience the beauty of God’s work firsthand. Jackie

Lighthouse CDs If anyone has used Lighthouse CDs that you no longer use, we would gladly accept them, as we offer them to those who come to our food pantry. They can be dropped off at the parish office.

CHAPEL REFLECTIONS A large part of my job here at Spirit of Life is coordinating cov-erage for the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. This has never been a job, but a gift in my life! Through the grace of God, people from churches in Mandan and Bismarck have been present with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for over two years! The chapel is a great gift in our midst, a gift enriching the lives of many, but sadly, a gift that remains unopened by many as well. For me the chapel has become a place of refuge and peace – HOME. Each time I enter I feel that I have come home, and I know that others who come frequently feel the same. As I clean the chapel, I sometimes find tear stains on the floor where people have brought their lives to Jesus. I see their tears of pain and sorrow, their tears of joy and gratitude. I offer those tears and those lives again to Jesus as I reluctantly scrub away the crystallized salty stains. People have told me of prayers answered, peace restored, strength provided, of God at work in their lives. We need to hear these stories! And so I invite those of you whose lives have been impacted through time in the chapel to write a short reflection of your experience of Jesus in the chapel so that we can share those in the bulletin. Please submit your short reflection via email or hand-written to me at the parish office. You may choose to remain anonymous, but please share your experiences with us! God bless you! Deb

Peter’s Pence Collection The Peter’s Pence Collection unites us in solidarity with the Holy Father and his works of charity to those in need. In his address of March 20th, 2013, Pope Francis spoke of our responsibility before the world and creation. “There is much that we can do to benefit the poor, the needy, and those who suffer; and to favor justice, promote reconciliation, and build peace,” he said. Your contributions to the Peter’s Pence Collec-tion allow the Holy Father to support victims of war, natural disasters, and others most in need of assistance. Join Pope Francis and be a witness of charity in the world. Envelopes for this collection can be found in the gathering space. The collec-tion will be taken on June 27th & 28th.
