Task: Read the comic strip
entitled “King Midas”. Get ready to arrange some events as they happened in the story.
King Midas
King Midas wanted to become the richest man in the world.
One day, King Midas saved a satyr.
Dionysus – the god of merry making – owned the creature.
In return, Dionysus asked King Midas what he wanted.
King Midas wished that everything he touched to turn to gold.
Dionysus granted King Midas’ wish.
Everything that the king touched became gold – even his daughter.
King Midas became unhappy. He asked the god to take back the wish.
Dionysus told Midas on how to get rid of the spell.
King Midas washed his “golden touch” in a river.
He became even richer because the water flowed with a golden gleam.
