Dear Property Owner,

I am proud to present Edison Township’s 2017 Calendar with noteworthy dates, useful information and essential phone numbers.

Let me take this opportunity to remind you that Edison Township recently launched a dynamic new Municipal Website at www.edisonnj.org that lets youaccess essential information about Town Hall and our first-rate services.

Our new Website is “mobile friendly” thanks to a new Edison “phone app,” compatible with iPhones, Apple and Android Smart Phone devices.

An exciting feature of our Website is a downloadable “Recycling Coach App” that puts the latest details about sanitation, recycling and special collectionsfor hazardous household waste at your fingertips.

The “Recycling Coach App” sends you alerts if services are interrupted for emergencies like inclement weather. It also enables residents to quickly reportmunicipal problems like missed collections.

The Edison Website and “phone app” are new ways for you to stay up-to-date about our town, along with our award-winning public access TV Channel 15and signing up for NIXLE emergency notifications about local emergencies, road closures, traffic problems and inclement weather.

I am also pleased to report that Edison is making steady progress to reduce municipal disposal costs and to save tax dollars through recycling. Moreresidents than ever now use our convenient recycling drop-off sites — 471 Meadow Road in South Edison and at the Minnie Veal Community Center onGrove Avenue in North Edison.

For a fourth consecutive year, Edison will use state recycling grant money to continue our popular “leaf bag giveaway program” for homeowners this fall.

To help you navigate Edison Township’s menu of services, please feel free to contact my office at (732) 248-7298 or for assistance with recycling, sanitation or street maintenance, contact our Public Works Department at (732) 248-7288 or [email protected].

Best Wishes,

Mayor Thomas LankeyTownship of Edison
