Many in our parish have attended Cursillo weekends over the years and give great testimony to the power of such weekends. Cursillo is pronounced ‘KER-SEE-O’ meaning -

short course in Christianity. Weekends are being offered this fall and next spring

at Sand Hill Bible Camp, just south of Fosston. Cursillo weekends include quiet time, inspirational talks, and most importantly, time to be with Jesus without the

many distractions of daily life. Grow closer to Jesus by tak-ing the time to join us. HE will bless your sacrifice of time for

HIM.

A word about Mass offerings and scheduling intentions

The Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of the interior life of each believer and the very life of the Catholic Church. Every time Mass is celebrated, the sacrifice of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Calvary is re-presented in an unbloody manner affording the priest celebrant and all con-gregants who participate in the Mass an infinite amount of sanctifying grace. The tradition of giving offerings to have Masses celebrated for specific intentions often called “Mass stipends” is a laudable one. Christ’s faithful make an offering so that Mass can be celebrated for their intention, contribute to the good of the Church, especially the support of the sacred ministers and the fulfillment of the Church’s apostolic activity (cf. canon 946). Mass Pro Populo - “For the People” The Bishop of a Diocese and each Pastor/Rector of a parish is obliged to offer Mass for all the people of his diocese (or parishes) each Sunday & Holyday of obligation. (canons 388.1, 534.1) Please know we do our best to schedule your requests for intentions for Masses; we do this on a first-requested availabil-ity. Sometimes a given date will be unavailable, sometimes because of our honor of having Bishop Hoeppner who is obliged to celebrate his Mass pro populo and Fr. Vincent’s (or mine, on his behalf) obligation to celebrate a Mass pro populo for the parishioners of our parishes. Sometimes there are other reasons. Thank you for your kindness, understanding, and graciousness in this regard. ~Fr. Augie

MACH (Mothers & Children) Wednesday Bible Study

will not be having their annual rummage sale in August. This had been an event which helped de-

fer the costs of childcare while the Moms had time for study and prayer with other Moms. This year they ask all those who would generously have shared their items to take items either to Wright’s Consignment in Red Lake Falls and donate under the donation number 1966. In Crookston you can donate items to Wish Upon a Star Store under ‘MACH’. The Mothers and their children will be most grateful to all who are so kind as to donate and to assist, and would welcome other Mothers and children to join with them!
