Sometimes, when it has just stopped raining, the sun comes out. Just step out and look up. You might see a broad band of colours in the sky. It looks as if seven different-coloured ribbons have been strung across the sky. Yhis is a rainbow. The next time you see a rainbow, count it’s colours. This group of letters will help you to remember the different colours found in a rainbow:

V for VIOLET

I for INDIGO

B for BLUE

G for GREEN

Y for YELLOW

O for ORANGE

R for RED

Use your crayons or colour pencils to colour the seven boxes with the right colour. Now you will never gorget the seven colours of the rainbow. Do you know where the seven colours of the rainbow come from? They come from sunlight. When the sun shines through the raindrops, each raindrop splits the light into seven colours, and a rainbow is formed. A. Colours can be mixed to make other colours.

Mix these colours Colour these spaces What is the new colour? Mix yellow and red.

Mix blue and yellow.

Mix red and blue.

Mix red and white.

Pygmies are a race of very small people. Pygmies line in the rain forests of Africa. A pygmy is just about the size of a boy or girl in your class. Pygmies have reddidh-brown skin and very curly brown hair. Most of them have round heads and broad faces. They also have round bellies. No one knows why pygmies are small. However, their small size helps them to move very quickly. Their small size and brown skin help them to hide in the forest easily. Pygmies use small bows and arrows to hunt animas in the forest. They also eat berries, mushrooms, roots and nuts. They love honey. Pygmies are very happy to have the forest as their home. They know that the forest gives them all that they need.
