Psalm 23:6 (NIV) Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Faith is:

• The way we relate to God.

Hebrews 11:6 (MSG) It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.

• The way we experience forgiveness and salvation.

John 3:16 (NLT) For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 4:3 (TLB) For the Scriptures tell us Abraham believed God, and that is why God canceled his sins and declared him “not guilty.”

• The way we overcome adversity and temptation.

1 John 5:4 (NCV) And this is the victory that conquers the world—our faith.

• The key to obedience to God.

James 2:14 (NLT) What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?

• An essential part of our spiritual armor.

Ephesians 6:16 (TLB) In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.

• Settle the question of where you are going to spend eternity.

• View your present problems in the light of eternity.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (TLB) These troubles and sufferings of ours are, after all, quite small and won’t last very long. Yet this short time of distress will result in God’s richest blessing upon us forever and ever! So we do not look at what we can see right now, the troubles all around us, but we look forward to the joys in heaven which we have not yet seen. The troubles will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever.

• Realize that what you do here makes a difference there.

Revelation 20:11-15 (NLT) And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

2 Corinthians 5:10 (NLT) For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.
