Whenever I count

my blessings…

I count you twice!

Thanks for always being

there for me Dad!

We remember all of our fathers,

living and deceased.

We remember in a special way those who

have been like a father with gratitude and

heartfelt thanks also.

Above all, thank you to our heavenly Father

who gives us all things good!

We ask our heavenly Father to bless our

priests, Fr. Walt, Fr. Dave, Fr. John

and our Deacon Lou and Deacon Dave.

Their unselfish dedication and care for all of

us at St. Basil the Great Parish

can never be measured!

Congratulations to the Class of 2020

Congratulations to all those who graduated this

year, Kindergarten through Higher Education.

May the Lord bless and protect you in all that

you strive to do in your future!

We pray for our educators, that God may bless

them with wisdom and the spirit to be the heart

of Christ. We thank them for all the creative

ways that helped these students when they

were uprooted from their classrooms during

this pandemic. You were amazing! A great big

thank you to the parents...who stepped up to

become teachers at home!

This was not the graduation that you

expected...but we know God has his hand on

your life…trust in all the possibilities He has in

store-just for YOU! God will never abandon you.

May God continue to bless and guide you

throughout your life.

“A good deed is never lost; he who sows

courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants

kindness gathers love.” -St. Basil

I Can Do That

“For wherever your treasure is there will your heart be also.”

- Mathew 6:21

The more time and effort we give to something, the more we will value it. Make the health of the planet a family affair. Talk about the importance of caring for creation in ways that are not frightening. With older children talk about environmental issues at family meals.

Ask the children what they think would be good ways for the family to help protect the earth. If you plant a pollinator garden, have older children investigate what plants to buy. Have younger kids help with the planting. Send the family on a single use plastics quest in the house and talk about how they can stop buying it. Older children can investigate alternatives online. Have the children decorate single-use bags. They will be more fun for the children to help carry. Bags

with the children’s handprints can be given as presents to grandparents. Select and plant a tree together. Have children help fill the bird feeder. Investigate online other fun projects for the family to do together.

As the twig is bent, so grows the tree.

“Our prayers go out to all the

families who have lost loved

ones during the corona virus

pandemic…

May They rest in peace.”

TWELFTH SUNDAY IN ORDIANARY TIME

COVID-19: A PRAYER FOR

SOLIDARITY

For all who have contracted coronavirus,

We pray for healing.

For those who are particularly vulnerable,

We pray for safety and protection.

For all who experience fear or anxiety,

We pray for peace of mind and spirit.

For affected families who are facing difficult

decisions between food on the table or public

safety,

We pray for policies that recognize their plight.

For those who do not have adequate health

insurance,

We pray that no family will face financial

burdens alone.

For those who are afraid to access care due to

immigration status,

We pray for recognition of the God-given

dignity of all.

For our brothers and sisters around the world,

We pray for shared solidarity.

For public officials and decisionmakers,

We pray for wisdom and guidance.

Father, during this time may your Church be a sign

of hope, comfort and love to all.

Grant peace. Grant comfort. Grant healing.

Be with us, Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Spiritual Communion

for all during this pandemic health crisis. Act of Spiritual Communion: My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love

You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there

and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Summer 2020 PSR Offering

Summer PSR Program will be offered to parishioners entering

grades 3rd through 8th for the 2020-2021 school year.

Here are the details:

• The program will run Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 31, 2020.

• Families will work from Home on the materials provided by the PSR Office.

• Registrations are being mailed Friday, June 12, 2020.

• Registration deadline is Monday, June 22, 2020

• The program is merging the current Summer PSR program and the current Home Study

program.

• Detailed information about the program was communicated to PSR families in an email and

included in the registration packet.

Considering the uncertainty of your child’s regular schooling for the

2020-2021 school year, I highly encourage families with children

going into the 3rd through 8th grades to participate in the summer

program. There will be limited offerings for PSR in-person classes

for the fall due to limiting the number of children in a class to

10 students. Here is the proposed School Year PSR class offerings:

• Sundays for 1st and 2nd Grade Only.

*Two class times – 9am and 11am

*10 students per class

Mondays for 1st – 8th Grades

*6:30pm class

*10 students per class

Tuesdays for 1st – 5th Grades

*6:30pm class

*10 students per class

Home Study for 3rd – 8th Grades

We believe the above offerings for both Summer PSR and the School Year PSR are the best we

can offer while following the guidelines from the Diocese of Cleveland, the CDC, and the State

of Ohio Department of Health.

If you have any questions, please contact Mary Meler at [email protected] or

440-465-4104.
