Why (c)ync v6.0?

● In today’s era of modernization, computers have become an indispensable part of our lives. Many eminent schools with computer clubs have come up with the idea of an IT fest. Exun (DPS RK Puram), eSpice (DPS Noida), XINO (DPS Rohini), Code Wars (DPS VasantKunj), CORE (DPS Dwarka) etc are few prominent events of the same nature.

● As our motto says, we believe in doing the impossible. We believe that a piece of code is mightier than a pen as well as a sword. We are a team, excelling in various fields such as computer programming, web development, photo and video editing etc. We fascinate people by our creations, and draw people to the magnificent and unexplored world of computers.

● A tech-fest provides a platform to the students to showcase and enhance their knowledge,expertise, and computer skills.

● (c)ync v1.0, (c)ync v2.0, (c)yncv3.0, (c)ync v4.0 & (c)ync v5.0 were grand success and people are expecting its next version. (c)ync is one of its kind in our city Bhopal and will encourage other schools to be a part of it.

The Plan

Events 1. (c)lick: Photography Event

Participants skilled in photography will go through this task which

will test their skills in all situations for getting the best photo at the

best timings.

Participants will be allotted a theme, which they have to capture

from the neighboring surroundings in the form of best photograph

possible from the school campus.

DPS Bhopal will not participate in this event.

Rules:

i. 1 hour 30 minutes for clicking the pictures.

ii. 45 minutes to edit the pictures.

iii. Topic will be announced on the spot.

iv. Usage of any personal gadgets, except the camera, during the

competition is strictly forbidden.

Venue: School Campus and Computer Lab for editing

Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes (clicking photos and editing)

Software provided in Lab: Adobe Photoshop CC 2015

Participation: Individual (maximum 2 students per school)

1st Position: Winners Trophy, Tech Goodie and a Certificate

2. (c)ynth: EDM Mixing Event

Participants will be required to create pieces of music on the spot

using audio editing software in the EDM (Electronic Dance Music)

umbrella of a wide range of genres ranging from house to trap.

DPS Bhopal will not participate in this event.

Rules: i. Plug-ins, presets and sound packs will be provided.

ii. Participants should bring their own headphones.

iii. Length of soundtrack: Minimum 2 minutes.

iv. Pend rive and other storage devices are not allowed.

v. Participants should create original music.

vi. Audio splitters will be provided.

vii. Usage of any personal gadgets, except the headphones, during

the competition is strictly forbidden.

Venue: Computer Lab (Utility Block)

Duration: 2 hours (approx.)

Software provided in Lab: FL Studio 12.2

Participation: 1 Team per School (2 students per Team)

3. Laun(c)h: Design and Code a Website

An event in which participants compete to design as well

as code their creativity into an amazing website which

will be judged on its creativity, usability, and

innovation. This event will test the creativity and

imagination of the participants.

DPS Bhopal will not participate in this event.

Rules: i. The product should be promoted by using the website.

ii. The participants would be provided with topics onsite which will

be given randomly.

iii. The participants would be provided with templates for designing

their products.

iv. Participants are supposed to use only Adobe Illustrator to design

their product.

v. The website should be single pager.

vi. Products designed should have at least 1 unique personalized

feature.

vii. Pen drives, CD/DVD, mobile phones are not allowed.

viii. Judgment would be done on the basis of:

Venue: Computer Lab (Utility Block)

Duration: 2 hours (approx.)

Software provided in Lab: Brackets 1.14, Visual Studio Code,

Sublime Text 3.2.1 Build 3207, and Adobe Illustrator CC 17.0.1

Participation: 1 Team per School (2 students per Team)

4. Respawn: The Gaming Event

Multiplayer gaming event will be held which will require co-

operation between the team members & necessary skills to win the

competition. Every school will have 1 team comprising of 5 students.

DPS Bhopal will participate in this event.

Rules (Counter Strike 1.6):

i. Auto snipers, i.e. D3/AU-1 for the terrorist’s side, and KRIEG 550 COMMANDO for the counter terrorist side, will be banned from the tournament.

ii. Scoped rifles, i.e. KRIEG 552 for the terrorist side, and BULLPUP for the counter terrorist side, will be banned from the tournament.

iii. Death camera will be disabled. Giving calls to teammates after death, i.e. ghosting, will not be allowed.

iv. Players will be allowed to use their own peripherals, i.e. mouse, headphones, keyboard and mouse pad.

v. Qualification rounds will be played on the map aa_dima2. This stage will be best of 9 rounds, i.e. the first team to win 5 rounds will qualify to play in next stage. Nading is not allowed on aa_dima2 and buying is also prohibited for this round.

vi. Group stage will be conducted on the maps de_dust2 and de_mirage. These rounds will be best of 9 rounds, i.e. the first team to win 5 rounds will qualify to play the final.

vii. Final will either be played on de_inferno or de_train. The final will be best of 13 rounds, i.e. the first team to win 7 rounds will be declared as the winner

viii. Toss for side/map will be done by a quick knife round on the map 1hp.

ix. First round of the group stage and the final will be pistol round, starting money for which will be $500.

x. Any failure in the practice of the aforementioned rules will result in direct disqualification.

Participation: Team of 5 students (One Team per School)

Prizes:1st Position: Winners Trophy, Tech Goodies and a Certificates

5. De(c)ypher: An Online Cryptic Hunt

De(c)ypher is an online cryptic hunt in which participants will be

required to search the internet for clues and find the correct answer

to cryptic questions. Clues shall be provided to the registered

contestants on the De(c)ypher website. This event tests your ability

to hunt for answers online in limited time. Contestants shall be

judged on the basis of how quickly they can find the answer to the

maximum number of questions.

Rules:

i. The hunt shall commence from 6:00 PM 19th July 2019, to 9:00 PM

21st July, 2019.

ii. The event encompasses an Online Cryptic Treasure Hunt in which

participants must make their way through a series of cryptic levels.

iii. The participants aim is to crack the levels as

quickly as they can so as to place themselves

at the top of the leader board.

iv. At each level, the participants will encounter a number of clues

which shall all, together, point to one answer. Each level has one

correct answer.

v. Official clues may be released on the Facebook page if and when

deemed necessary by the admins.

vi. Answers will always be lower-case, alphanumeric and will contain

no spaces. Special characters are allowed. For example, if the

answer is Elon Musk, you would type it in as “elonmusk”.

vii. Every clue in the question is important. If they were not important,

they would not be there

viii. Beware of the spelling you enter, we are not autocorrecting.

Venue: Online event. (No Particular Venue)

Duration:

19th July 2019: 18:00 hrs (IST) to 21st July 2019 21:00 hrs (IST)

Participation: Individual and open for all.

Prizes:

1st Position: Winners Trophy and a Certificate

2nd Position: Runners-up Trophy and a Certificate

3rd to 5th Position: Certificates.

Requirements: Special cryptic skills with High IQ and patience.

Note: Travel allowance/stay will not be provided by the school

for the participants/winners of the event.
