TouchscreenOperating conceptThe touchscreen displays virtual function keys according to the program selected. Required functions can be activated either by touching the function keys with your finger or via the cursor with the foot control.

Function keys for functions not included with the treatment center are not displayed on the touchscreen.

Status barThe status line is located at the bottom edge of the screen. If multiple user profiles are preselected, active user profiles A to F are displayed with the current time including seconds next to them. In addition, status messages are displayed to indicate, for example, the need to change the amalgam separator, add water sanitizing agent, charge the battery of the wireless foot control, refill the cleaning agent for chemical treatment of the suction hoses, as well as the number of days left until the next maintenance call or sanitization run and error messages.

Sub-screensSome programs are divided into a main program and sub-screens. The function keys for the basic functions are displayed in the main programs. The sub-screen key (two rectangles) leads to additional setting options.

Settings screens

In many cases, functions can not only be switched on or off, but also can be set. If a function key is pressed and held (> 2 s), the corresponding settings screen appears. This screen is superimposed on the current screen. The screen located in the back-

EasyMode Start programThe EasyMode Start program operating mode displays the function keys for the patient chair programs and manual chair adjustment, as well as the quick setting keys for adjusting the intensity of the instruments together on the same screen. The main keys for the treatment are there-fore always displayed on the touchscreen. It is not necessary to switch between the Start and Instrument programs. This makes the operation of the dental treatment center similar to other Dentsply Sirona dental treatment centers that are operated without a touchscreen.

You can set the operating mode you would like to work with in the Setup screen:

SIVISION programThe treatment center can be connected to a PC via an Ethernet cable. The SIVISION and/or SIUCOM plus PC application enables communication between the treat-ment center and the PC. SIUCOM plus is required for PC control. The PC can be operated directly on the touchscreen and in conjunction with the SIROCAM AF/AF+ intraoral camera, with the foot control of the treatment center as well.

For details, please refer to the "Installation and Configuration of SIUCOM plus / SIVI-SION connect" manual.

The treatment center can be operated with the following PC versions:

• External PCThe treatment center can be connected to an external PC via an Ethernet cable. PC applications such as Media Player, Microsoft® PowerPoint®, SIDEXIS, or SI Video can also be controlled from the treatment center.

• Internal PCThe treatment center is operated as a standalone unit without an external PC. A mini PC is integrated in the base of the chair instead. It is required to display the camera images using the SI Video PC application. It is not possible to control additional PC applications with this version.

• Operation without PCThe use of SIVISION is not possible.

The SI Video application is used in treat-ment centers with external PC, on which SIDEXIS is not installed, or with an internal PC (standalone solution). In these cases, SI Video serves as a video application for the camera.

Starting PC communication All PC applications which were started

from the treatment center have been terminated.

SIUCOM plus has been started, e.g. via Autostart.

Network connectionThe network connection must be config-ured for communication between the treat-ment center and the PC. The IP address (Internet protocol address), the subnet mask and the gateway (transition point to other networks) can be configured at the treatment center.

The treatment center can be integrated into the practice network by means of a static network address or via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).

The network configuration is described in detail in the "SINIUS installation instruc-tions".

Service domainThe Service domain is intended to be used only by service engineers.

Cursor controlThe touchscreen and the fixed keys of the dentist element can also be operated hand-free via the foot control.

Current cursor positionIf the cursor control is activated, see "Setting cursor control" [24], the current position of the cursor is displayed by an orange bar between the pair of keys on the touchscreen or the fixed keys.

Orange and blue barsA blue bar indicates which functions are assigned to the left or right key of the foot control. E.g. in the Start program, the keys are assigned to the mouth rinsing position (S) and the entry/exit position (0) (see example on the left), but in the Instrument program to motor and turbine with spray or chip blower.

If the cursor control without program change is activated, the blue bars also can be selected with the cursor.

If the cursor control with program change is activated, the blue bars are skipped for faster navigation. If the orange cursor is at the top starting point in this mode, pressing it again switches the program.

Cursor returnOnce a function is activated with the cursor control, the orange cursor typically returns to the starting position of the program, for instance after switching on the X-ray image viewer, the operating light, or cuspidor flushing. The cursor position will not change for functions that are operated by permanent shifting of the 4-way foot control plate, e.g., manual chair adjustment.

The cursor path runs between the pairs of keys, moving from top to bottom and from left to right, usually in multiple loops. The cursor path can be traversed between the starting and end points either in a forward or a reverse direction.

If no further cursor position is available on the touchscreen, the cursor jumps out of the touchscreen. The cursor path is then continued among the fixed keys on the EasyTouch user interface.

Instrument program cursor path

In Instrument programs, all quick setting keys are selected simultaneously. This is indicated by a horizontal orange bar located behind the quick setting keys. The speed or intensity is then set by actuating the 4-way foot control plate to the left or right briefly (values on quick setting keys) or for a longer time (intermediate values).

Implantology

Calibrating the bur driveCalibration must be performed each time you start treatment and each time you change or lubricate the contra-angle hand-pieces.

Attach the contra-angle handpiece that you would like to use for the implanto-logy treatment to the electric motor.

Insert the tool in the contra-angle hand-piece. This is therefore also taken into account for measurements.

Touch the Cal key on the touchscreen. The button flashes orange. Hold down the foot pedal throughout

the duration of the calibration. The Calkey continues to flash. If the burr

drive is calibrated, the key permanently remains highlighted orange. Calibration is then completed.

Setting the speed and torque Use the – and + keys to set the speed

and torque of the tool. You can also hold down the keys for this purpose.

The selected speed is displayed in the first line in rpm (revolutions per minute). The torque is displayed in the second line in Ncm (Newton centimeters).

Setting the direction of rotation Touch the CCW Rotation key on the

touchscreen. For counterclockwise rotation: The CCW

rotation key is highlighted orange and an orange CCW arrow appears. Coun-

Activating/deactivating and setting the NaCl flowThe peristaltic pump can be switched on/off by touching the NaCl key. If the key is highlighted orange, the pump can be acti-vated using the foot control.

The NaCl flow rate set of the peristaltic pump is permanently displayed by a bar in the bottom line of the touchscreen in the Implantology program.

The flow rate can be set by pressing and holding the NaCl key (>2 s).

Selecting a stepIndividual settings can be made and saved for each implantology work step, e.g. predrilling, final drilling, tapping, etc. At the end of each work step, the required settings are made immediately available by selecting the next step.

Select the required implantology work step. Touch the previous step or next step key.

The selected work step is displayed on the touchscreen. The settings saved in the work step are preset.

ApexLocatorThe ApexLocator can be used to measure the working length of the root canal file in endodontic treatments using electrical impedance.

The ApexLocator can be used as follows:

• For measurement during treatment using the endodontic treatment option with electronic torque limitation

Distance display in the Endodontics program

• For measurement during treatment with the motor, without electronic torque limi-tation

Distance display in the Motor program

• For manual measurement using a file clamp

The measured root canal depth is shown in the distance display on the touchscreen. A bar with 11 display levels shows the distance from the root canal file to the physiological apex. The root canal is divided into four colored sections in the distance display.

Gray regionThe tip of the root canal file is in the middle region of the root canal.

Blue regionThe tip of the root canal file is near the apex.

Green regionThe tip of the root canal file has reached the physiological apex.

Red regionThe tip of the root canal file has pierced the physiological apex. The instrument over-shoot is displayed.

In addition to the graphical distance display on the touchscreen, the position of the file in the root canal can also be indi-cated as an acoustic signal.

Automatic motor stop and auto-reverse functionYou can set the motor so that it stops auto-matically when the physiological apex is reached. If you want to use the automatic motor stop, this can be preset in the sub-screen. The automatic motor stop can be combined with the Auto-Reverse function.

Attach a file to the handpiece. Short the electrical measurement

system. Plug in the files and hold them directly against the mucosal electrode. This cancels out any inaccuracies caused by skips in impedance in the measurement set-up (standardization).

If a constant signal is heard and the distance display appears with no bars, the standardization was successful. If not, check the electrical connections for signs of damage.

Place the mucosal electrode in the patient's mouth and perform the treat-ment. Activate the bur using the foot pedal.

The measured root canal depth is displayed by a colored bar in the distance display.
