The AT&T Pioneers and State Rep. Mark Born will paint a 20-foot by 30-foot mural of the United States on the Prairie View Elementary playground as part of a volunteer community service project on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The project will allow teachers to use the playground to teach geography through creative play. The new playground will be ready for students as they head back to school this fall. “We are very excited for this new addition to our playground and thankful to the AT&T Pioneers for their work on this project,” said Principal Jesse Peters. “We can’t wait for our students to play on our new playground map this fall.” The AT&T Pioneers are providing paints and supplies for the map project. The Pioneers are a local organization of AT&T employees and retirees who are dedicated to volunteering their time to various community causes. “This is an impressive project that will allow our elementary students to learn more about our country through creative play,” said State Rep.
