Builder’s Stone & MasonryBuilder’s Stone & Masonry is a family-owned and operated business that partners with numerous manufacturers to deliver high quality stone, stucco, EIFS, brick, and CMU block expertise to the construction market in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. We have delivered beautiful stucco and stonework to the residential and commercial sectors of the Kansas City area since 2008, but have extensive experience before the founding of our company. We specialize in masonry work for new construction, remodeling, home improvement, and repair work. Since we are a volume dealer, our prices are extremely competitive. We sell and install our entire product line, and encourage you to ask your builder about us. Our knowledgeable staff will help you pick the perfect stone for your project, and if you would like to install the stone yourself, we’ll even show you how.

Create your unique canvas in stone.Grout literally brings your stonework together. With traditional groutingmethods, it is the grout that fills the voids between stones, helping to secure them in place and preventing rain or snow from penetrating the stonework. Beyond the practical function it serves, grout also plays an important part in the overall visual appearance of your finished stonework.

The most common grouting technique is a “standard or regular mortar joint.” Evenly applied around the edge of each stone or brick. When finished the grout appears as a recessed even layer filling the gaps between stones and bricks. This is a classic, traditional technique that provides timeless beauty.

For a more old world look, “overgrout” uses a much heavier grout seam. Applied to be even with or extend beyond the face of the stone. Grout may even partially cover the face of the stone. The overgrout technique is especially popular with larger, irregularly shaped stones.

Another option that many homeowners use is “drystack.” This is a groutless look with the mortar used behind the stone to secure it in place. This gives the look as though the stones are simply stacked on top of each other (mortar may be seen in some areas).

Stone will reflect some variation in color. Like any other cement product, under certain weather temperatures and conditions, stone may have signs of efflorescence.

Our Centurion products are manufactured at a state of the art facility in Nashville, Tennessee and are engineered to the highest of industry standards and are currently represented across the United States, Canada, Japan and Europe.

A Copy of Centurion, Inc’s 50-year Pro Rated Materials Warranty is available upon request.

Builders Stone & Masonry partners with many sub contractors for the installation of our products. We choose to work with only those contractors who have proven to exhibit the highest integrity and workmanship that will meet the high standards set by us, and that our customers expect. All of our masons are fully insured and provide a 1 year limited warranty on their stone installation. The following attributes are considered to enhance the character of the stone and should not be considered faults in installation: varying grout sizes, cut pieces, distribution of color tones and seeping mortar (dry stack). These labor warranties DO NOT cover any circumstances uncontrollable by the installer. This includes damaged or cracked stone due to: Heaving concrete, shifting/twisting of columns framed with non-masonry products, acts of God. Excessive settlement of building and cracked corners on columns are the most common repair due to construction, not installation.

Builders Stone & Masonry is not responsible for water-proofing. Our stone products along with masonry grout, do allow minimal water penetration. Our masonry sub-contractors practice the latest, most up-to-date installation methods in attempt to avoid any water or moisture issues. Upon completion of all exterior projects, it is recommended that the customer caulk any areas of concern. These areas may include, but are not limited to: where water edge meets siding, stone meets windows, or stone meets any other non-masonry material. We do ask that the customer understand that stone is intended to look “irregular” and “imperfect”, as these qualities contribute to the overall elegance and artful distinction that sets stone apart from other forms of masonry products.
