I am writing to express my interest in the application from the City of Kearney for funding
through the Surface Transportation Program.
The funding that the City of Kearney has requested will be used to contrast a new interchange as
well as improvements along 19th Street. It will include a full diamond interchange as well as
improvements along 19th Street/NE 144th Street, the widening of 19th Street, an extension of the Platte
Clay Way outer road from the Shoppes at Kearney, and sidewalks alongside the road improvements.
Based on information provided to me by the City of Kearney, I believe that they are well suited
to pursue this project. I request your full and fair consideration for this application. In addition, I would
ask that you keep my office informed of the progress of the proposal and notify me when a decision
regarding recipients is made.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ashley Burke in my Kansas City, Missouri
office at 816-792-3976 or [email protected].

Regards: The 19th Street Interchange Transportation Alternatives Program
Greetings,
Kearney, M () 64060
The Kearney Police Department has supported the efforts to secure a second Kearney interchange that would be located at 19th Street and 1-35 since March of 2016.
This interchari.ge is very important to the present and future growth of Kearney and the expansion of new development in the area of 19th Street, Watson Drive and Nation Road.
The new interchange would greatly ease the traffic congestion at MO-92 Highway and 1-35 and most certainly reduce traffic accidents which is a concern to the Police Department.
Respectfully submitted,
~ a~ . C Q Chief of Police

To Whom It May Concern:
On behalf of the Kearney Area Development Council, I am writing in support of the City of Kearney's application to the Mid-America Regional Council's Transportation Alternatives Program for federal funding related to the proposed 19th Street Interchange and improvements to Nation Road.
The proposed interchange and road improvements are critical to Kearney's future growth. Most impo1tantly, our fast-growing community needs the second interchange and nearby road improvements in order to maintain the safety of our residents, visitors and truck drivers who are traveling on and off l-35. In addition, the interchange is an essential piece of Kearney's future commercial development. The interchange has been federally approved, and the City has already demonstrated significant investment in support of the project by building Watson Drive, a connector road between Highway 92 and 19th Street, both to support future development and to alleviate traffic along a nearby residential corridor. Lastly, the City has a 1 % sales tax initiative on the April ballot so that they may construct the new interchange.
We truly appreciate MARC's consideration of this project. Should you have any questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to contact our Executive Director, Shawna Searcy, at (816) 628-3343 or [email protected].
Sincerely,
President Kearney Area Development Council
