Transcript of 6 frames from technical analysis

FIRST & SECOND FRAME

The first initial shot which interested me from the video, was the couple sitting at the table whilst a subtle zoom out takes place, as the female prepares to throw some food. This shot then quickly cuts straight to the females hand. These two shots take place within half a second, which is conventional to the dance genre, due to a fast cutting rate which we wish to implement.

The simple moving extreme long shot of the French scenery is an example of an establishing shot which we are planning to use. However instead of being from the perspective of a car, our track will take place on a train, revealing the river themes.

THIRD FRAME

The handi-cam pan is subtle and quick however the shot is visually appealing to the viewer, the males characters antics is also something youthful which we would want in our production due to the portrayal of youth culture we are aiming to represent.

FOURTH FRAME

The following shot in the sequence reveals a low angle of the couple connoting vulnerability in the big unknown city. The pan which accompanies the shot suggests a sense of confusion and lost. Furthermore their facial expressions convey worry. Therefore this frame is so eff ective due to how much it shows from something so simple.

FIFTH FRAME

The concluding shots in the music video take place within a night club. The frame reveals the protagonists dancing to the artists of the track (therefore Disclosure are subtly present to the audience despite being a narrative based music video). The frames per second is slowed down and the lighting in the shot conforms to the genre, as it is low key and features strobes.
