Lots of wide shots are also used which is conventional for the form and genre. This is because by using a wide shot it enables the whole band to be seen in one shot, this is conventional as it is appealing to the audience as they idolise all of the band members. By using a shot that all of the band members are in it connotes their relationships and bonds with each other.

Two shots are used often throughout the video, this purpose of this is so the lead singer and the backing singer can both be focused on in one shot. This is conventional for the genre and form as it helps identify the roles of the band members which is effective and appealing for the target audience.

When the lead singer was in scenes low angles were used, this is to signify his importance. This is conventional for the form and genre as its appealing to the audience to understand the importance of the roles in the band they like.

Editing

Action match is used throughout this music video, this is conventional for the genre. It demonstrates that conversation is happening, as it has to be represented in a visual manner.

Cross cutting is also used in this video, this is conventional for the genre and form. In music videos the shots have to be short so the audience do not lose interest, therefore by using cross cutting it enables scenes to continue throughout the video but cutting from scene to scene. Its conventional as its appealing to the audience as it keeps them engaged and interested in the video.

Another convention of the genre which is used is fast paste editing this is conventional as pop songs are usually up-beat, therefore by using fast paste editing it is appealing to the target audience as it keeps the music interesting throughout.

Lip syncing is conventional for the form and it is used in this video. This is conventional as it identifies who the artist or lead singer is, with out the lead singer lip-syncing the audience would fail to understand who is singing.

everyone in the video is wearing similar coloured clothing. This is conventional as it helps the audience understand that who the members of the band are. They are all wearing fashionable clothing which is conventional as it is appealing to the audience as they are often interested in current fashion.

The setting is also conventional for the genre, this is because it represents them as rebellious and fashionable. This is appealing to the audience as they will be able to relate to this therefore is conventional.

High key lighting is conventional for the genre and form, this is because it means that the audience will be able to see everything in the shot clearly as it is well lit, making it conventional and appealing to the audience.

Props are also conventional for the genre as it makes the scene busy which keeps the audience interested throughout the whole video as there is always something eventful and fun happening which the props connote.
