Melissa Noonan Head of Strategy and Operations, St. George, Retail Banking

“Completing my postgraduate studies at UTS was an important factor in developing my commercial skills to make good business decisions based on insight and evidence rather than having subject matter expertise in any one area. At the same time my UTS studies reinforced that people leadership is critical to business success.

Since completing my studies at UTS I have held senior leadership positions in various parts of banking, from large transformation projects, Contact Centres, Commercial Banking, Retail Banking and Offshore.

The postgraduate studies offered by UTS Business school are fantastic for people embarking on studies who have busy working and family lives, as the programs offer the option to complete Certificate, Diploma and Masters courses depending on the commitment that the individual can make to ongoing education, especially if their circumstances change.”

Violet RoumeliotisCEO Settlement Services International

“Over the years in the sector, a number of my colleagues whom I had a lot of regard for had mentioned that they had gone to UTS Business School and they were very happy with the Not-For-Profit master’s course.

UTS Business School was outstanding – supportive and practical in its assistance and used orientation to offer time management tips. The course format was ideal for me and my fellow students as it offered flexibility and the staff were extremely helpful and pragmatic.

Since graduating, I am now in a job where I have almost tripled my income, involves international travel and is a large values-led charity where the work is thoroughly rewarding (although very demanding!)”

Margot Harley Head of Consumer BusinessSydney Roosters

“When I think of business I think of UTS. The Business School has a great name, and the fact that they offered a Master of Sport Management made the choice a no brainer for me.

I’ve been fortunate that the research done in my capstone subject has been able to create a real-world strategy because that was my biggest goal. I didn’t want to do research just to do it. I identified that I had an opportunity to actually make it mean something. What I’m most proud of is that I could do something that not only has helped me in my degree but has also been able to effect some change in the sport that I’m passionate about.”

If your postgraduate degree is related to your employment, your tuition fees may be tax deductible. For more information, contact your financial adviser or the Australian Tax Office (ATO) ato.gov.au
