Abortion Bills Sweeping the Nation This year has been encouraging to see many states advocate for the right to life. The following states have passed new laws protecting the unborn in various ways: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky,

Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Utah, North Dakota, Tennessee and Texas. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivery (R) signed the most restrictive law, which makes it a felony for doctors to perform, or even attempt, an abortion. The only

exception made is for cases where the mother’s life is in danger. Some states took measures to make abortion more accessible, though. The Illinois Senate voted to pass their Reproductive Health Act, which repeals the ban on partial-birth abortion, allowing abortion for any reason

through all 9 months, and requires insurance companies to provide coverage. Gob. J.B. Pritzker (D) vows to sign it into law. New York’s Gov. Cuomo (D) signed the Reproductive Health Act, which legalized abortion at any time

and also repealed criminal charges for harming children in the womb, but not for harming pregnant women. Vermont Gov. Phil Scott (R) is set to sign a bill that would cite abortion as a “fundamental right.” Abortion is

predicted to be one of the most pressing topics in debates for the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Pray that our presidential leader will recognize the sanctity and protection of all unborn babies.
