It is the last month of school! Thank you for another wonderful and successful school year! I would like to report that our enrollment is full on the ECE end with 80 students. Our enrollment for the elementary school is up! We currently have 20 students registered in Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade. We have 13 registered for 3rd grade, 15 registered for 4th grade, 17 registered for 5th grade and 13 registered for 6th grade. That is a total of 118 students! We are so blessed! The school is growing and we are excited about all of our new and returning students!
Thank you to everyone that participated in the St. John’s Classic Golf Tournament. A BIG thank you Caron Lindley for heading up this fundraiser. May is a very busy month. On May 3rd, we will host our first ever STEM challenges. They will be competing with race cars and catapults. On May 5th, PTL will host the 2nd annual “Rice Run” 5K. Our 6th graders will be recognized on May 9th during chapel and Kindergarten graduation is Friday, May 11th. Preschool 4 Promotion is May 15th, our awards ceremony will be held May 16th. Field day is May 17th, and we will finish our year out with our annual ECE Trike-A-Thon on May 22.
We are sad to see the year end, but look forward to another great school year!
Thank you for all that you do for our community and school!

DID YOU KNOW? Saint John’s Lutheran Church and School are involved in many
ministries. We have many opportunities for you to participate in, in
your faith life. Every month in the newsletter there will be a few
new ones listed. Also be on the look out in the bulletin for a new one
listed each week with a description of what they are all about.
JOB Center Bingo
The JOB Center in Stuttgart is a workplace for mentally handicapped adults. These workers provide a service to businesses in town and the community. Once a year, St. John’s Ladies Aid host a Bingo party for the workers in the fellowship hall of the educational building.
Prizes are “white elephant” donations. Gently used purses, jewelry, hats, caps, wallets, watches, vases, floral arrangements, decorative pillows, and stuffed animals are some of the prizes awarded to the winners. Because three games of Bin-go are played and each of the 25-30 players Bingo, 75-90 gifts are needed. Pizza and homemade cookies are served at noon.
ICCM (Inner Church and Community Ministry) Food Bank
The ICCM Food Bank is operated by churches in Stuttgart. Each church is re-
sponsible of one month’s operation of the facility; October is St. John’s month. Duties
of each church when manning the food bank consists of furnishing the workers, buy-
ing supplies, stocking shelves and dispatching the food on Monday, Wednesday and
Friday of each week from 12 Noon until 1p.m.
Worship Materials for Prison Ministry
Furnishing worship materials for the state prison system is an on-going project
of STJLC Ladies’ Aid. Portal of Prayers, devotional books and out reach Bibles are sent twice a year to the prisons. The Bibles are “marked” to guide a reader through a summary of the Gospel. One prison asked for NKJV Bibles in Giant print. At this time thirteen of these Bibles have been given. No tax moneys are allocated to prisons for
Christian material.
