Housing and Homelessness

Ruah is the lead agency of the 50 Lives 50 Homes campaign, working with organisations across

multiple sectors to collaboratively address challenges of housing Perth’s most vulnerable rough sleeping

homeless population.

Using a Housing First approach, 50 Lives 50 Homes works towards ending homelessness, finding housing

for the most vulnerable rough sleepers and then providing wrap around support to reduce the risk of

returning to homelessness.

Within the first 18 months of the campaign 50 clients were successfully housed with many

others being supported. Clients of the campaign have access to after hours support thanks to the

After Hours Support Service.

Our services include:The Ruah Centre

The Ruah Centre is a drop-in centre, located in Northbridge, for people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless. Everyone is welcome. We can also provide you with information and referrals to a range of other support services including doctors, Street Law and Centrelink.

Street to Home ProgramRuah’s Street to Home Program can assist you to access stable housing, and address issues to achieve positive, long term outcomes, and an improved quality of life.

After Hours Support Service Providing wrap around support to our 50 Lives 50 Homes clients, this team ensures that you have access to critical support services after business hours.

Support and Tenant Education Program (STEP)If you or your family are living in public housing and are experiencing difficulties that are impacting on your tenancy, the STEP program can provide flexible and tailored support to meet your needs to maintain your tenancy.

South-East TenancyRuah South-East Tenancy assists you and your family to maintain private rental tenancies. This program is for individuals and families in the south-east metropolitan corridor of Perth.

and funded by generous contributions from our supporters, as well as State and Federal

Governments.

To ensure you receive the best support that works for you, our services are personalised

and flexible. We walk alongside you to achieve your goals and improve your

quality of life.

Our commitment to end homelessness has led to the development of innovative

campaigns and programs. We believe in a ‘Housing First’ approach to end

homelessness. Our services are designed to get people into a safe and secure

environment and then provide services to support their tenancy and wellbeing.

This means that people are less likely to return to homelessness after being housed,

and we can prevent people becoming homeless.
