    The minimum .easlc rates of wages fixed are linked to theConsumer Price Index Numbers for the industrial workers at 525 points(Base Year 1982=100 series). l=he Commissioner of Labour shaU notifythe Cost of LIving Allowance for every six months l.e, 1stApril andl$(October. For this purpose, the average rise In the State IndustrialWorkers Consumer Prrce Index numbers for half year ending December.and June respectively shan be taken into account. For every rise of onepoint over and above 525 points, an increase of Rs.6.40 (Rupees six andpaise forty only) per point per month shall be paid as dearness allowanceto all the categories covered in the Scheduled employment.NOTE:-

    1. If any categorIes employed In tnls employment are left out theyshould not be paid less than the minimum rates of wages fixed Inthe category of the workers, being the same and similar categoryof work in this employment. -2. Where piece rate workers are employed, theremuneratton paid toeach of them for a normal working day shall not be less than theminimum wage fixed for a general worker being simUar work,calculated on the basis of 8 hours a day. ..,3. To arrive at a daily rate, the monthly rate shall be divided by 26,which Includes the rest day wages.4. Where the nature of work Is the same, no discrimination on thepayment of minimum rates of wages should be made in respect ofmale and female workers.5. Where any category of employee is. actually in receipt of higherrate of wages than those spedtied above shaU continue to be paidsuch higher wages.
