The DilemmaEntrepreneurs have a plethora of responsibilities to
manage throughout the day. For those starting out,
especially, everything that must get done is reliant on
the business owner.
Quest for ProductivityBecause of this, time is of the essence. Every decision,
every hour spent, is critical to the success of a given
project or the business entirely. The goal should
always be to optimize the time in a day and to find
balance--to be productive.
For Your InformationThis presentation includes my personal experience as
well as tips from top publications and experienced
entrepreneurs, regarding the art of productivity, which
is key to growth.
Divide The DaySyed Balkhi recommends starting out the week by
planning what needs to get done. Then, divide each task
into 15-minute time blocks. Doing so keeps you on track,
and cuts out wasted time. Source: entrepreneur.com

Begin With The BadAs a business owner, you will have tasks that are not
exciting, or which you just have no interest in completing.
Perhaps it time consuming or out of your normal realm of
comfort. Face it head on and get it out of the way so the
rest of your day can be a breeze.

Email After WorkAccording to the University of California, people who do
not check emails regularly at work are less stressed and
more productive. Travis Smith suggests checking your
messages in the morning and afternoon to organize and
delete spam, but only responding at night once everything
else has been handled.

Clean UpA desk in disarray increases levels of stress thereby
decreasing productivity. Be sure to clean up messes as
they happen and keep things organized. Better yet, scan
necessary papers to have access to them electronically
and cut down on the paper trail.

This Day OnlyMeetings are time consuming. Depending on the subject,
they can take a lot of resources and energy, and leave you
depleted to handle matters effectively for the remainder
of the day. Sherman Lee at Good Sense suggests picking a
set day on which you will handle meetings, leaving the rest
of the week open.
