o Hypogeum & Marsaxlokk

Learn a little of Malta’s history and culture by visiting some of its most important landmarks. Start with the Hypogeum, a labyrinthine complex of man-made chambers hewn out of the limestone extending some 11 metresbelow ground. A designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, the mysterious complex appears to have been used both as a burial site and a temple. Continue to the picturesque fishing village of Marsaxlokk characterised by low lying buildings and colourful traditional fishing ‘luzzu’ boats.
