Installation
1) Bolt base to a levelled floor securely using the 3 (3/8”) clearance mounting holes.
The unit needs to be stable and levelled in order for lift and agitator functions to
work properly.
2) Install plant style air quick disconnect on the air flow controller to the 3/8” NPT
inlet notated with arrow. Quick disconnects used to ensure safety. *Agitator
should not be used while lift is in raised position.
3/8” NPT inlet
3) Attach the provided ground wire to the lift base plate as shown. The ¼” ring
terminal should be attached to the base, and the c-clamp should be attached to a
ground bar.
Note: Air flow controller (3076-00-00A)
is an accessory

Operation
Lift System Operation
The lift speed control fitting on the main lift air tube can be adjusted to modify the rate at
which the lift moves upward and releases the air to go downward. The lift speed control
fitting has been pre-set for suggested air tube speeds.

AQ Recommended Lift System Speed Adjustment
1) The bottom side of the needle screw that controls the speed of which the lift
comes down should be about 9/64” from the locking nut of needle screw.

2) The needle screw that controls the speed of which the lift raises should be about
3/32” from the locking nut of needle screw.
Agitator Control (optional)
Set air flow control (3076-AFC3-000) as described in the air flow control manual, each
unit will come preset to Autoquip recommended agitator speeds. If a different speed is
desired, the soft start control will adjust the speed. Lowering the psi will decrease the
agitator speed, while increasing the psi will increase the agitator speed.

Soft start control Flow control
Do not operate the agitator at a high speed for a long period of time. Excessive agitator
speed can cause foaming of fluid, vibration and increased wear on the parts.
Switching Bucket Positions
The AQ 5-gallon pail lift system is capable of switching positions with ease to eliminate
any spills and speed up productivity.
CAUTION
9
To switch positions:
1) Elevate the lift to its raised position
2) Pull out the Lift guide pin
3) Pull up on the Lift guide assembly to release it from the base (3099-0520-160)
4) Rotate the lift system into its secondary position and insert the lift guide into the
secondary stubs on the base of the lift.

Maintenance
Gear Box Disassembly
1) Loosen set screw on Rotary shaft collars attached to the AQ rotary shaft (3099-0520-
054)
2) Loosen the (2) ¼-20 SHCS from the AQ agitator lid support tube
12
3) Slowly loosen the (4) ¼-20 SHCS attaching the AQ 5-gallon agitator lift lid to the
AQ pump mount gear cover bracket to remove lid from the gear cover bracket. *The
lid is not required to be unfastened from the bearing block unless the bearing block is
to be replaced.
4) With the gear box detached from the lift, loosen the ¼-20 bolt fastening the Idler
(3099-0520-450) to the bearing block (3099-0520-407). With the Idler loose, the belt
can now be removed.
13
5) To remove pulleys*, loosen the (2) 2.5mm set screws located in between the
grooves of the pulley.
6) Using a 1/8” Allen wrench, loosen the set screws on the collar of the 2-bolt flange
bearing (3099-0520-452), and the 3-bolt flange bearing (3099-0520-453). The AQ
agitator blade shaft (3099-0520-055) and rotary shaft (3099-0520-054) can now
be removed.
7) To replace the 2-bolt flange bearing (3099-0520-452), use a 9/16” wrench to
loosen the (2) 3/8-16 hex head bolts.
14
8) To replace the 3-bolt flange bearing (3099-0520-453), use a 1/2” wrench to
loosen the (3) 5/16-18 hex head bolts.
Step 7
Step 8
15
Gear Box Assembly
1) Fasten the 3-bolt flange bearing (3099-0520-453) to the bearing block (3099-
0520-407) using a 1/2” wrench for the (3) 5/16-18 hex head bolts.
2) Fasten the 2-bolt flange bearing (3099-0520-452) to the bearing block (3099-
0520-407) using a 9/16” wrench for the (2) 3/8-16 hex head bolts.
3) Insert the rotary shaft (3099-0520-054) into the 2-bolt flange bearing until the
shaft is against the bearing block, then bring the shaft up about a 1/16” so the end
of the shaft does not rub against the bearing block. Align the set screw with the
flats of the rotary shaft accordingly, and fasten the set screws to the shaft using a
1/8” Allen wrench. Slide the rotary shaft pulley onto the rotary shaft so the pulley
is against the flange bearing collar, then fasten using a 2.5mm Allen wrench

4) Insert the smooth, turned end of AQ Agitator Blade Shaft into the 3-bolt flange
bearing from the bottom of the bearing block. Slide the agitator shaft pulley onto
the agitator shaft. Fasten the agitator shaft pulley onto both the shaft and 3 bolt
flange bearing collar evenly to the rotary shaft pulley.
5) Install the AQ 5 Gallon Agitator Lift Idler Assembly onto the bearing block as
pictured below. Adjust the idler as needed to tighten the belt.
¼-20” square nut
2 5/16” flat washers
5/16” flat washer
¼” lock washer
5/16” thin flat washer
17
6) Fasten the bearing block with the AQ 5-gallon agitator lift lid attached to the AQ
pump mount gear cover bracket using the 4 ¼-20 X ½” socket head cap screws.
7) Fasten the AQ agitator lid support tube to the agitator lift lid using the 2 ¼-20 X
¾” SHCS.
18
8) Insert the Rotary shaft spider into the rotary shaft collar fastened onto the air
motor shaft. Align the Rotary shaft collar onto the flat of the rotary shaft and
fasten the set screw of the rotary shaft collar.
9) Assembly of the gear box is complete! Make sure to test the agitator for any
issues before using the unit in a working environment.

19
AQ 5-gallon agitator lift blade
1) Loosen the 2 set screws on the blade using a 1/8” Allen wrench to remove the
blade (3099-AB05-000).
2) Slide the blade onto the AQ agitator blade shaft (3099-0520-055) until flush with
the bottom of the tube. Fasten the 2 set screws using the 1/8” Allen.
AQ lift guide bearing
1. Requires (2) 7/16 wrenches: Use a 7/16 wrench to hold the ¼” nut in place on the
backside of the AQ lift guide bearing (3077-BG55-606), then use the second 7/16
wrench to loosen the ¼”-20” hex bolt on the top side to remove the lift guide
bearing form the AQ 5-gallon lift guide plate.
20
2) Assemble the replacement lift guide bearing using ¼”-20 X 1-1/4” hex a flat
washer on the top side of the bearing, and then a flat and lock washer on the bottom
side of the lift guide plate that will be against the ¼” nut. Leave the lift guide bearing
semi-loose in order to adjust the bearing with the lift guide bar.
3) Install the lift guide bar thru the lift guide bearing and into the AQ agitator lift
base plate.
4) Adjust the lift guide bearing as needed for the lift guide bar to be coincident with
each other, then tighten the (2) ¼-20 hex head bolts to fasten the lift guide bearing
to the lift guide plate.
21
AQ Lift Speed Control Air Fitting
1) Detach the 3/8” airline connected to the speed control air fitting
2) Using a 11/16” wrench, loosen the speed control air fitting from the AQ lift tube
top cap by turning the nut attached to the fitting near the needle screw that
controls the down speed control.
3) Make sure the replacement speed control air fitting has thread sealant tape on the
threads, and fasten the fitting to the lift tube top cap.
4) The replacement AQ lift speed control air fitting will need to be adjusted to the
proper lift speeds. See page 6 for instructions on properly setting AQ
recommended lift speeds.
