Ask yourself...Are you eating to bring youth and vitality to your life? Diet choices you make affect your aging process. Could you be unknowingly ingesting foods that age you? ❖ Which foods extend your life?❖ Which shorten it?

Avoid the following unless you want to look like you’ve been drinking for years:

AVOID

1. Sugar ages your skin. That on top of ultraviolet light is just a double whammy! Avoid foods with added sugars (e.g. sweetened beverages, processed foods).

AVOID2. Sodium is bad for your heart and can increase blood pressure. How much is too much? No more than 2300 mg/day.

*Substitute: Citrus and fresh herbs

AVOID3. Trans-fats age our skin and can lead to clogged arteries.

AVOID4. Alcohol adds calories but no nutrition. A little imbibing is ok. For women, 5 oz. of wine a day (1 drink/day). For men, 10 oz. of wine a day (2 drinks/day) or 2- 12 oz. beers.

AVOID5. Caffeine dehydrates. Being dehydrated by as little as 2% not only can make skin look bad, but also lower overall well-being.

EAT1. Blueberries help reverse age related declines in cognition and motor functions. Studies show that women who eat blueberries and strawberries decrease risk of dying from a heart attack.
