5 Elements of Graphic Design
Lines
• A line in graphic design is a long narrow mark
or stroke, made on or in a surface.
Ex
Graphic designers use line in almost anything, characters are made of a series of lines. Lines are everywhere in graphic design
ShapesThere are 3 basic shapes
-Triangle -Square
-CircleShape is defined as; An outline of
something's form or a geometric
form.
Graphic designers use shapes to way
down, or draw attention to a certain
part of the advertisement.
MASS• Mass: The visual weight of
graphic and text elements.- Graphic designers would use mass to showhow big their product is, to a common thing,anyone would know the size of.
TEXTURE
• Texture: the feel or appearance of an surface Ex: rough, smooth, soft etc…..
In graphic design, texture is used to show how a product or something would feel off of the screen.
Color•
Color is a pigment used in painting, not black or white. The property of objects depending on the light that they reflect.
- Graphic designers use warm or cold colors to attract certain viewers.
