Content Management System

manage, store and deploy content on Web pages. Web content includes text and embedded

graphics, photos, video, audio, and code (e.g., for applications) that displays content or interacts

WordPress is an open source, free blogging tool and content management system (CMS) powered by PHP and MySQL

You can update your site from any computer that has internet access

WordPress is the most popular blogging system in use on the Web,at more than 60 million websites.

Installing Wordpress

1. Go to http://Wordpress.org and download latest version

2. Extract the zipped file and paste in xampp\htdocs (rename the folder say, 'wordpress')

3. Go To XAMPP and run XAMPP Control Panel.Start Apache and MySQL Services

4. Create database Http://localhost:8080/phpmyadmin

5. Go to http://localhost:8080/wordpress

*Where wordpress is the name of the directory that contains wordpress files

Now, follow the on screen instructions.
