5-Day NSS Camp Report The NSS wing of the ATME College of Engineering, Bannur Road, Mysuru, conducted a Camp for five days at the Biligere Hundi Village, T.Narasipura Taluk, Mysuru. More than 30 students participated actively in the NSS Camp and extended a good service for the health, hygiene and welfare of the village. The NSS Camp was organised by Mr. Rudresh A N, The Program Officer, along with the other faculty coordinators, Mrs. Harshitha N, Dr. Muralidhar M P, Dr. Sathish K R, Mr. Raghu, Mr. Dhananjaya and Mr. Raghavendra, with the guidance and support of Dr. L Basavaraj, Principal, ATMECE, Dr. M.S. 5-Day NSS Camp Report

The NSS wing of the ATME College of Engineering, Bannur Road, Mysuru, conducted a Campfor five days at the Biligere Hundi Village, T.Narasipura Taluk, Mysuru. More than 30 studentsparticipated actively in the NSS Camp and extended a good service for the health, hygiene andwelfare of the village.

The NSS Camp was organised by Mr. Rudresh A N, The Program Officer, along with the otherfaculty coordinators, Mrs. Harshitha N, Dr. Muralidhar M P, Dr. Sathish K R, Mr. Raghu, Mr.Dhananjaya and Mr. Raghavendra, with the guidance and support of Dr. L Basavaraj, Principal,ATMECE, Dr. M.S. Day – 1 Date: 27.09.2021

Morning

The NSS Camp was initiated by Dr. M.S. Govinde Gowda, Dean Academics, who briefed aboutthe importance of NSS as well as the morals of the camp. Then, Dr. Sachidananda Murthy K L,Administrative Officer, appreciated the participation of the students in spite of the pandemicsituation and wished them for a good camping and stay.

After reaching the camp at Biligere Hundi Village, Mrs. Harshita N, Asst. Professor, ECEdepartment addressed the students of the Govt. High School of the village on self-cleanliness andimportance of continued education after SSLC in general and about health and hygiene for girlstudents in particular.

EveningThe camp was inaugurated by Sri. Basavarajappa, a senior resident of the Biligere Hundi villageby lightening the lamp and appreciated the venture. The members of the village panchayattogetherwatered the plants to commemorate the importance of greenery and vegetation in human life.Mr. Rakshith, NSS Volunteer, Mandya, visited and addressed the student volunteers about theimportance and basic principles along with ethics to be followed in a NSS camp.On the same evening, a cultural programme was exhibited by the volunteers

Day – 2 Date: 28.09.2021MorningThe plantation of 75 saplings by the elected members of the Village Panchayat and the studentvolunteers inside the premises of the school was the high light of this day to represent the 75th

Independence Day of our nation.

EveningDr. L. Prasanna Kumar, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, PES College of Engineering,Mandya, an eminent speaker was invited who spoke on the use of Bio-Fuels for vehiclesincluding tractors as well as on importance and methods of Rainwater Harvestingand groundwater recharging wells., even in rural areas.On the same evening, a cultural programme was exhibited by the volunteers

Day – 3 Date: 29.09.2021MorningOn this day, the Lions Club of Bannur Green Land in association with Jeeva Dhara, a unit ofSocial Services Trust, Mysuru, arranged a Blood Donation Camp in which most of the studentvolunteers as well as some interested locals donated blood. Also, a Health Check-up Camp fordiabetes and Blood Pressure was arranged in which about 100 members were examined by theinvited doctors. Further, Sevashraya Foundation, an NGO from T.Narasipur, donated themedicines prescribed by doctors for some defaulters of the camp.

EveningMr. Nageshwar, Manager, Karnataka Grameena Bank, T. Narasipur,was invited to explain aboutthe loans, subsidies and insurance policies that are available by the Government for the farmers.On the same evening, a cultural programme was exhibited by the volunteers for about an hourwhich was very much appreciated by one and all.

Day – 4 Date: 30.09.2021MorningThe cleaning of the surroundings of the primary school and the templeas well as the roads of thevillage was taken up by the student volunteers. This activity is expected to promote theimportance self-cleaning on health-hygiene among the villagers.The Sevashraya Foundation, an NGO from T.Narasipurdonated T-Shirts to all the volunteers ofthe camp.

EveningA very informative talk on precautions to be observed for facing the 3rd wave of Covid-19 wasdelivered by Mr. Puneeth, Head Constable, KRS Station, Mysuru who also explained theimportance of vaccination and motivated the villagers to get vaccinated at the earliest.On the same evening, a traditional folk dance (Janapada Jatre) was performed by the troop headedby Mr. Keerthi and Dileep of Mollena Halli of Mandya District.

Day – 5 Date: 01.10.2021MorningOn this last dayof the camp, one of the student volunteers, Mr. Bharath S, Vth Semester, EEE,performed a demo show of Martial Arts (Karate) and also trained some of the students whichwould help for self-defence.Further, competitions were held in Colour Drawing, essay writing on the topic “ Covid – 19” and‘Rangoli’, and the winners were judged.

AfternoonFinally, a valedictory function was arranged in which Mr. Mariswamy, BEO, Mr. Ramesh, PDO,Dr. Rathnakar G, Dean-Student Affairs, ATMECE and Mr. Rudresh A N, the Program Officerwere invited to be guests of honour.Then, prizes for the winners of the various competitions held were distributed by the dignitaries.Further, mementoes to all the participants of the NSS camp were given away by Mr. ShivaKumar, Manager, Reliance FC who sponsored them in the name of his daughter baby Gahana S.
