Mix water in fullers earth to form it in to a thick paste. You may also replace water with rose water. Divide your hair into sections and fluff a little multani mitti powder

through each section. Apply the paste quickly in your hair as the fullers earth tends to dry pretty quickly. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and rinse with LOTS of lukewarm water. I

follow up with the oiling and shampooing my hair the next day.

Egg Yolks: This one came from my mother-in-law. Although she is a vegetarian but when it comes to her hair, she has no issues using eggs. I

use this as one of my pre-wash conditioner. It stinks. lol!! But it works great for hair. Apart from conditioning, it works great for people who are suffering from hair loss.

    How to use it?

For long hair: 4 egg yolks; for short or medium length- 2-3 would do. I use only two.

Pour the egg yolk back and forth between each half of the shell while holding your hands over the bowl. Allow the egg white to spill into the bowl, but keep as much of the egg

yolk in the shell as possible. Continue this motion until the egg white has been emptied into the bowl. Dump the egg yolks in a separate bowl and whisk the yolks with a fork.

Part you hair in sections and cover every strand of your hair with the whisked eggs either with apastry brush or a your fingers. Cover you hair with a dry towel and wait for 8-

10 minutes. Follow up with a strongly scented shampoo to get rid of the odour. Your hair would be shiny, and bouncy after that.

Heena: The credit for this product goes to mom. Simply not recommended for dry hair. Apply on dry hair and you would end up with lifeless-brittle

hair. For some reason my every hair dresser has suggested me against applying heena so I dont use it. But since its a natural dyes it works great to colour any greys, keeps

your oily scalp in place and conditions your hair. The best way to find out whether heena suits your hair or not is to do a strand test and you would know how your hair behave

    to it.

    How to use it?

Pour 2-3 tablespoon of heena in a bowl. Slowly add water and keep mixing it until it forms a creamy yogurt kind of a thickness paste. Add half lemon and 6-7 drops of

essential oil. Part you hair in sections and cover every strand of your hair starting from bottom working your way till up and keep rolling your hair in small bums. You may also

use hair clips if your hair are short. Cover your head with a shower cap and wash off after and hour or two ( keep heena longer if you want more colour in your hair)with

LOADS of water. Your hair might feel itchy after drying because of dry henna specks left in your hair. So oil your hair overnight and wash the next day. Dont forget to keep aold towel on your pillow when you sleep. After washing, you hair would have this beautiful reddish colour, no dandruff, and lots of shine to them.

You may apply henna at 1 1/2 to 2 months duration period.

Mayonnaise: When my hair dresser recommended me to apply mayo in may hair, I was likeummmuhhh? His only explanation that

convinced me was that I would be giving my hair the best of both worlds-eggs and oils. I was a little skeptical about applying the regular mayo so I made it at home only. But I

also found out an unsalted mayonnaise at stores so I use that most of the time.

How to make Mayonnaise at home?

    Ingredients:

2-3 Eggs Yolk (Pour the egg yolk back and forth between each half of the shell while holding your hands over the bowl. Allow the egg white to spill into the bowl, but

keep as much of the egg yolk in the shell as possible. Continue this motion until the egg white has been emptied into the bowl.)

    1/2 cup olive oil

    1 tablespoon of lemon

Whisk the egg yolks and lemon inbowl with a fork. Then add little by little oil and blend the ingredients in a blender. Make sure that the oil is not separated from the egg yolkmixture. Blend until its creamy. Watch this video, I make mayo exactly like this except that I skip adding salt.

Mayo should be applied on clean hair because its a natural conditioner so apply it after you have washed and towel dried your hair. Cover every strand of your hair with mayo

starting from the bottom and working it upwards. Leave your hair for an hour and follow up with regular shampooing. Say hello to shiny-healthy hair.

Some people (my mom included) swear by reetha/soapnut but my hair get crappy after its usage. It works great on oily scalps.

Other than these, you must also take care of your diet. Add amla, almonds, green leafy veggies also on your diet.

So what are you hair care tips? I would love to hear.

    Cynthia,

I myself wish I could do these more often but my busy scedules dont allow me to indulge in too much luxury. The beer option is the easiest so I find myself doing

    that mostly.

    Thank you.

Glad you mentioned. I thought you are writing naughty stuff. Amla skikaki mixture does not suit my hair. I get some weird frizzy texture after using it.

prefer mayo over eggs. Its difficult for me to get over that sleazy eggy feeling . I hope you get what I am saying.

i tried all of the above except fullers earth. i find it difficult to remove when i apply on my face. so a bit scared to try on my hair.

    whats your opinion?

when i tried beer last time it wasnt that good. dont know why.

have u tried apple cider vinegar?

Ani, I find fullers earth a pain to use but its great for oily scalps. You are right about it getting hard but thats why we call it a hair mask. I have heard about

Apple Cider Vinegar but never tried. Beer works just great on my hair as well.

@Rati : They used to have it quite a few yrs back. Nowadays I dont find it here in H&G etc..Need to see if any mens shop would have..geez..Ill ask my hubby to

    check :-)

And btw, the shikakai mix doesnt suit my hair too..makes it rough like coconut husk :-(

Egg really smells yuk. Thats why I follow it up with a perfumed shampoo such as Sunsilk or Pantene. And its only after 2 washes that my hair smells

decent. I can imagine how beautiful your sisters hair would look with all those sun rays and beer in her hair.

Except one for a few months I wld use hibiscus powder mixed with amla powder. It was very similar to the fullers earth pack you suggested.. It wld dry and take forever

to come off. Lotsa rinising.. it was a pain..

My nani insists that mustard oil is very good for the hair.. I even put up with it for a while (ghastly smell), but then it didnt seem to be doing any good (my hair is very

resistant in a bad way like naughty kids)..

These days I have been using (for a week actually) the loreal total repair 5 and it is suiting me quite well.

Great share, thank you! Believe me, oatmeal is also good for the hair. Mix up some oatmeal, then apply it to your hair while in the shower. Rub it in and let it sit for abou

1-2 minutes before washing it out completely. Your hair will be soft and strong.

Hi I am new to this site..recently joined hence the late entry to this old post..For those who have problem with henna, awla, shikakai or reetha I have a solution for

them..A lot of people especially at the salons. They always tell you that henna is bad for ur hair as it dries ur hair.. (Actually they suggest this so that u r convinced & get u

hair coloured by them).. Ok.. U can try this mixture its a bit long procedure but worth it.. U can take whole dried awla & shikakai(u get them at any general store) soak

them in water for at least 4-5 hrs till they r soft then take out their seeds.. Then u need to grind them with water finely & sieve it and store in bottles..Whenever u want to

apply henna in ur hair, soak henna powder in the awla shikakai concoction in a Lohe ki Kadhai or tawa overnite.. Soaking it in lohe ki kadhai ensures that ur hair doesnt

turn red..Keep the henna in ur hair dor at least 2 hours or till it dries up a bit. U can add an egg to the mixture just before applying. You can also mix some tea & coffee

powder for some colour. Take 1 tsp tea powder and 1 tsp coffee in water & boil it. when it cools down u can add it to the henna mixture. Or after washing off ur hair o

henna, u can rinse ur hair with this tea-coffee mix. And voila!! Ur hair will be gr8 for sure

P.S:- this is my own personal recipe for my hair which I have been using for about 10 years..

hi rati, first of al congrats 4 such a amazing blog! I dropped here accidently n nw i m regular follower!

I want 2 contribute little bit of my knowledge here, that if u wt 2 use henna without leavin ur hair dry n brittle, use henna gloss instead of henna-

Mix small amt of henna wth a tea concation(i use green tea), add few drops of essential oil lyk rosemary, lavendar and jojoba oil,2 tbp of olive n castor oil each,2 tbs of

methidana pwd, coffee optional,n leave it overnight!

Just before applying add 2 tsp of ur fav conditioner(i prefer organic one, conefree) n apply as usual, dnt forget 2 put a plastic cap over it 2 prevent it from drying!

U can leave 4 as long as desired n wash as usual!condition 4 removing residues! U wl b surprised 2 see ur hair after washing!

Note u can increase amt of conditioner added,if u hv dry hair, mine is oily n i m happy wth 2 tsp only! Do gv it a try n let me know if u liked it! Have fun n keep the gud

    work rolling! Al d best!

Hi Alli have been a silent user of this site. Wud like to contributr in hair care.

I use following hair mask, it is reaaly good for me (I have curly and dry hair)

Boil following items in a container

    15 leaves + 1 flower of hibiscus

    2 Tbsp of Amla powder

    1 Tbsp of tea powder

    1 Tbsp of coffee

    - Take this boiled water , filter it and heena to it. Make a fine paste

Add 1 Tbsp of AloeVera gel and 3 Tbsp of curd to the paste.

Part you hair in sections and cover every strand of your hair starting from bottom working your way till up and keep rolling your hair in small bums. Wash after 2-3 hours

using water only. Then apply any of your fav hair oil (pref. warming the oil before applying). Leavethe oil overnight. Next day clean ur hair with any of your shampoo an

    conditioner.

You will notice shiny and well nourished hair. For more benefit you can also add egg white and 1 tbsp of lemon to the paste

Shampoo i found good to use.

    > VCC Soya protein (works good even without conditioner)

    > Loreal Total repair 5 followed by its conditioner

    > Kesh Kanti from Patanjali

Lots of my hair problem are solved after using the mentioned hair care receipe. I also use a herbel hair oil that i made at home.
