    LAST MONTH’S MOST IMPROVED GOLFERS:

4th Annual OC Jr Golf ChampionshipContinued from page 1 ..."Our goal this year is to continue building on our first three years of success," states the Golf Coast President Brent Boznaski. "We are seeing the earmarks of an Orange County Classic taking shape."

Boznanski continued, “Our formation of The OC Golf Coast Foundation three years ago as the recipient of the tournament proceeds has really pumped everyone. Goals of the Foundation are to create an endowment to fund a perpetual Junior Golf Program available to all youth of Orange Coun-ty and to provide scholarships for youth who exemplify the values of the game.”

James Spadoni, a 23-year veteran of the golf industry, is the organizer of the Junior Golf event. He states: “This format of a multiple-day competition is designed to give these junior golfers a chance to play in a multiple-day, multiple-course event. Towards that end, we’re partnering with the SCPGA Foundation with a goal of making this a nationally sanctioned and ranked event, lending a tremendous amount of credibility to our tournament,” he continues.

The OC Junior Golf Championship kicks off with registration at Tustin Ranch Golf Club on Friday, December 17th. Golf competition begins Saturday and continues Sunday:

    • Boys Ages 14 – 15 and Boys 16 – 18 play at Coyote Hills Golf Course and Black Gold Golf Club. • Boys 12 – 13 and Girls 12 – 14 and Girls 15 – 18 play at Monarch Beach Golf Links and Strawberry Farms Golf Club. • Age 11 and under, Boys and Girls will have nine holes of play on Saturday at

Aliso Creek Inn & Golf Course and on Sunday at Anaheim Hills Golf Course.

Top third qualifiers from each division will gather for a final day of Championship Round competition at Tustin Ranch Golf Club on Monday, December 20th.

Junior golfers may enter this tournament by going to the web site at:

www.ocjuniorgolfchampionship.com or call James Spadoni at 714.734.2105.

Click on the “Registration” tab. Entry fees are $195 (Boys & Girls, Ages 9-11) and $345 (Boys & Girls, Ages 12+). Play-ers age 18 must still be in high school. This registration fee includes two days of golf (3 days for qualifiers), tee prizes, and tourna-ment prizes. For parents, be sure to click on the “Hotel Information” link to find out about special rates for you and your Junior Golfers at our partnering hotels.

“We hope to build this tournament so that it becomes a national event and one that

people plan for months in advance,” says Spadoni. “It’s going to be an exciting few days in December and we hope everyone can join us!”

    FROM DESPAIR TO

DELIGHT!!Often times our Teaching Pros first meet a new student when that golfer is at an all time low. Discouragement with a golf game is often what it takes to drive a golfer into the idea of a private lesson in the first place.

Such was the case with a young woman named Seri Lee. Seri is a young golfer, in love with the game, and on the golf team at Tustin High School. Her game was going nowhere fast. Shooting a 41 or a 42 when you're involved with competitive golf at the high school level just isn't going to cut it. And Seri knew that.

In despair, she came to Ken Klisz, one of our PGA Teaching Team Profes-sionals. Ken worked with her to fix her swing. For the past year she and Ken have worked on some major changes.

Seri then started her new golf season and right away, posted two high scores. She and Ken met again and changed her mindset to restart the season from that point. Seri then went on to medal in most of her matches, with some scores in the 33 to 38 range (9-holes). Her reg-ular season culminated in early Octo-ber with a score of 31 at Tustin Ranch! She is currently competing in Orange County high school's annual CIF competition that will ultimately crown a state Champion.

REMEMBER!Don't forget to re-set your clocks and watches on November 7th. Actually, you may want to do that the night before, since the change happens in the middle of the night. And remember! "Spring forward, fall back". Set your clocks one hour backwards!

Moral of the story: the next time you've lost your game, you can make a choice: continue to struggle alone and run the risk of losing your excitement for this game, or you can call someone and work with a professional to fix it. It's your golf game, it's your choice!
