NEW ENGINES, NEW DRIVING DYNAMICS, NEW EQUIPMENT.THE NEW BMW SERIES COUP.

Adaptive Suspension.The Adaptive Suspension maximises handling agility thanks to electronically

controlled dampers that adapt to your dr iving style and the road conditions. Their

operating characteristics can be adjusted via the Driving Experience Control button.

A considerably stiffer suspension setting is available by selecting Sport or Sport+

mode using the Driving Experience Control button.

Driving Assistant.The Driving Assistant combines two camera-based systems, Lane Departure

Warning and Approach Warning. At speeds above around km/h, the system

uses a slight steering wheel vibration to warn the driver whenever the vehicle is

about to stray outside the limits of its lane. The Approach Warning detects vehicles

ahead and warns the driver if there is any risk of collision. In addition, the system

includes pedestrian detection, warning drivers of potential collisions and applying

the brakes if needed.

Full-colour BMW Head-Up Display.The full-colour BMW Head-Up Display projects relevant information directly into

the drivers field of vision (legibility is limited when wearing polarised sunglasses),

enabling drivers to keep their eyes on the road at all times. The display shows

such data as the current speed, navigation instructions, Speed Limit Info incl.

no-overtaking indicator, as well as Check Control and infotainment messages.

Active Protection.Active Protection comprises all the safety components included in the car. In

critical situations for example the seat belts are tightened, the seats are put

into an upright position, and open windows are automatically closed. After

an accident, the vehicle is automatically braked to a standstill. In addition, the

Attentiveness Assistant monitors the drivers steering behaviour and responds

to any irregularities with corresponding messages in the Control Display.

In petrol engines, BMW TwinPower Turbo technology combines a TwinScroll

turbocharger with Valvetronic, Double-VANOS and High Precision Injection.

In diesel engines, it combines CommonRail direct injection and a turbocharger

with variable turbine geometry. In this way, BMW TwinPower Turbo significantly

reduces the fuel consumption of petrol and diesel engines while at the same

time raising power output across a wide range of engine speeds.
