Senior students will initiate and implement an After School Activity - teaching other students how to make paper.

The paper will be sold and money donated to charity.

‣Rooms audit: room number and activity of each room

‣Wheelie bins: location audit and painting prototype

‣Investigation: leasing/purchasing a semi-industrial shredder

DP team leaders: write ACAMIS Service Grant proposal.

MYP team leaders: MYP leaders elected for each group: boxes, bins and campaigning.

‣Orange boxes for one-sided paper collection - acquiring and purchasing more if need be / painting‣Calculation of number of blue boxes for recycling required - acquiring and purchasing more if need be / painting‣Wheelie bins: calculation of number needed and allocation of painting (PYP, MYP & DP). Painting.

‣Bulletin articles: ‣(1) Introduction: The 4Rs of sustainable resource use. Introducing ‘The 4R Project’ at NIS‣(2) Sustainable use of paper at NIS: improvements based on refusing excessive use and reducing number of pages. Give statistics, interview staff and students. Reusing one-sided paper - it is only waste when we waste it. Introducing the orange trays and blue boxes.

‣Bulletin articles: ‣(5) The 4R project at work - photos of students collecting paper, shredding it, composting it.

‣Assembly: 4R in action - interviewing teachers and students, photos of shredded paper - quantity and being mixed in compost.

‣Further development of vermicomposting to complement composting

‣Development of plastic bottle recycling programme
