BASF to Invest 50 Million in India

BASF Chemicals India Private Limited has announced to invest 50 million to expand its R&D presence in Asia Pacific. The company aims to locate 25 per cent of its global R&D employees in Asia Pacific by 2020. The company also plans to start a Innovation Campus (Mumbai) in 2017. The facility will employ 300 scientists who will collaborate in Mumbai on global and regional research and development projects.

Minimum ignition temperature of dust clouds is an important parameter requiring special attention for designing the explosion prevention measures. This paper presents a model for determining minimum ignit ion temperature for an inorganic dust-air cloud, aluminium, simulat ing the condit ions in a Godbert-Greenwald (G-G) furnace. The model correlates the particle size in micron- and nano-range, as well as the dust concentration with the minimum ignition temperature for aluminium dust. The predicted values by the model developed are in close agreement with experimental data.

reproduce. Microbes get energy from the contaminants by breaking chemical bonds and transferring electrons from the

contaminants to an electron acceptor, such as oxygen. They “invest” the energy, along with some electrons and carbon

from the contaminant, to produce more cells.
