BeschreibungDie SMA Wechselrichter können mit verschiedenen Schnittstellen für die Kommunika-tion ausgestattet werden. Diese Kurzanleitung beschreibt die Nachrüstung eines Sun-ny Boy, Sunny Mini Central oder Windy Boy mit einem Piggy-Back für dieKommunikation. Dabei kann es sich um die folgenden Piggy-Backs handeln:

• RS485 (485PB-NR, 485PB-MS-NR, 485PB-SMC-NR)• RS232 (232PB-NR, 232PB-MS-NR, 232PB-SMC-NR)• Netzleitungskommunikation (NLMPB-NR)

Die hier beschriebenen Piggy-Backs können in folgenden Wechselrichter eingebautwerden:

Achtung: Alle Arbeiten an einem Wechselrichter, insbesondere dasÖffnen des Wechselrichters, dürfen nur von einer ausgebildeteElektrofachkraft durchgeführt werden! Beachten Sie bei der Instal-lation eines Piggy-Backs in einem Wechselrichter alle Schutzvor-schriften in der Installationsanleitung des Wechselrichters.

Achtung: Arbeiten am geöffneten Wechselrichter dürfen nur durch-geführt werden, wenn der Wechselrichter von der Versorgungs-spannung getrennt ist. Öffnen Sie den Wechselrichter wie in derInstallationsanleitung beschrieben.

Achtung: Beachten Sie bei den Arbeiten innerhalb des Wechselrich-ters immer die ESD Schutzvorschriften! Im Wechselrichter befindensich Komponenten, die durch statische Entladung irreparabel be-schädigt werden können. Sorgen Sie für eine leitende Verbindungzwischen Ihrem Körper und dem geerdeten Gehäuse des Wechsel-richters.

Hinweis: Bei einem Sunny Boy Typ "SWR" müssen Sie zunächst die Widerstän-de von der Betriebsführungsplatine entfernen, wenn Sie Ihr Gerät für dieRS232 oder RS485 Kommunikation mit einem PC oder einem Kommunikations-gerät einrichten wollen. Nähere Information zu der Entfernung der Widerstän-de finden Sie in dieser Anleitung.

Jumper Bedeutung Anmerkung

A 120 Ohm Abschluss-widerstand zwischen Klemme 2 (Data+) und Klemme 7 (Data-).

Am letzten Wechselrichter am RS485 Bus wird der 120 Ohm Abschlusswiderstand durch Jumper A oder einen 120 Ohm Wi-derstand zwischen Klemme 2 und 7 gewähr-leistet.Die Installation des Abschlusswiderstandes bei einem Sunny Boy Control / Sunny Boy Control Plus ist in der technischen Beschrei-bung des Sunny Boy Control / Sunny Boy Control Plus beschrieben.

B und C 680 Ohm Widerstän-de zwischen Klemme 2 (Data+) zu +5V und Klemme 7 (Data-) zu GND zur Symmetrie-rung des Signals.

Die Symmetrierung ist nur einmal am RS485 Bus erforderlich und sollte, wenn möglich am Sunny Boy Control intern erfolgen. Beim Anschluss von einem oder mehreren Wech-selrichtern an einen PC mit Schnittstellen-wandler I-7520 ist die Symmetrierung bereits integriert.

Hinweis: Ein RS485 Bus muss an beiden Enden terminiert und einmal symme-triert werden. Jumper A nur im Wechselrichter montieren, wenn dieser an ei-nem der Enden des RS485 Busses ist. Die Jumper B und C nur einmal innerhalbdes RS485 Busses, und auch nur dann setzen, wenn das Signal nicht anderwei-tig symmetriert werden kann. Beim Schnittstellenwandler I-7520 ist der Termi-nierungs- und der Symmetrierungswiderstand bereits integriert.

Hinweis: SMA empfiehlt als Schnittstellenwandler für die Kommunikation mitSMA Wechselrichtern den I-7520. Einzelheiten zu diesem Schnittstellenwand-ler finden Sie im Internet unter www.ICPDAS.com.

DescriptionThe SMA inverters can be equipped with various interfaces. This Short Descriptiondescribes the later installation of a Sunny Boy, Sunny Mini Central or Windy Boy witha Piggy-Back for communication. Following communication interfaces are available:

• RS485 (485PB-NR, 485PB-MS-NR, 485PB-SMC-NR)• RS232 (232PB-NR, 232PB-MS-NR, 232PB-SMC-NR)• Powerline (NLMPB-NR)

Caution: All maintenance works on an inverter, and especiallyopening of an inverter, are only to be conducted by a qualifiedelectrician! When installing a Piggy-Back in an inverter please noteall protective countermeasures of the Installation Guide of the in-verter.

Caution: Any work within the enclosure of the inverter is only allo-wed when the inverter is disconnected from the supply voltage.Open the inverter as described in the Installation Guide of the in-verter.

Caution: Pay attention to all applicable ESD protective counterme-asures! The inverter is assembled with components that are veryvulnerable to electrostatic discharge. Make sure that you are elec-trically connected to the enclosure of the inverter before you touchanything inside the enclosure.

Description of the jumpers A, B and C for RS485

Jumper Description Remarks

A 120 Ohm termination resistor between con-nector 2 (Data+) and connector 7 (Data-).

Mount jumper "A" on the last inverter on the RS485 bus in order to terminate the bus. A 120 Ohm connection between connector 2 and connector 7 has the same effect.The in-stallation of the termination resistor in the Sunny Boy Control / Sunny Boy Control Plus is described in the Technical Description of the Sunny Boy Control / Sunny Boy Control Plus.

B and C 680 Ohm resisors between connector 2 (Data+) to +5V and connector 7 (Data-) to GND for the pull-up/pull down resis-tors.

The pull-up/pull-down resistors for the RS485 bus are required only once on the bus. The I-7520 interface converter has both terminati-on and pull-up/pull-down resistors integrated internally - so jumper B and C do not have to be mounted. In case a different interface con-verter is used (which is not recommended) the pull-up/pull-down resistors can be activa-ted within the Sunny Boy by mounting the Jumpers B and C.

Note: A RS485 bus must be terminated on each end and must be symmetrizedonce. Jumper A in the Sunny Boy terminates the RS485 bus, so only mount thisjumper in the Sunny Boy on the end of the RS485 bus. Jumper B and JumperC symmetrize the RS485 bus - mount the jumpers only in one Sunny Boy on theRS485 bus and only if you are NOT using the I-7520 interface converter. (TheI-7520 has the termination and symmetrizing resistors integrated in the conver-ter.)

Note: SMA recommends the usage of a I-7520 interface converter for the con-nection of a RS485 bus directly to a COM port of a PC. Details about this con-verter are available under www.ICPDAS.com.
