Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
From Fr. Paul…From Fr. Paul…From Fr. Paul…From Fr. Paul… Dear Friends, I hope you can attend one of our "Town Hall" meetings this weekend - the first one is at St. Joseph Parish Center after the 4:00 Mass on Saturday, September 29, and the second one is at St. Francis Hall after the 11:00 am Mass on Sunday, September 30. We will discuss the Pastoral Plan, the annual financial report, and the Grand Annual. There will be time for questions and answers. More details can be found elsewhere in this bulletin. Also, both parishes need new liturgical ministers - ushers/greeters, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, altar servers, and choir members. Please consider volunteering once or twice a month. If you are interested, please give your contact information to one of the priests after Mass, or leave a message at the office. Training sessions for these ministries will begin soon. Thank you to the volunteers in both parishes who, week after week, "make things happen" here at St. Francis and St. Joseph Parishes. Father Paul

Halloween Bash
St. Francis of Assisi Friday, October 26th More info coming soon!
We are looking for bags of candy for the children’s goody bags. If you would like to donate a bag of candy, there will be tubs in the back of the church this weekend where you can drop them off.
Thank you in advance to helping to make our Halloween Bash
even more fun!
Friends of Francis
It’s that time of year again! With the Holidays fast approaching, we are looking for $10.00 gift cards for supermarkets for our Thanksgiving Dinners. This year we would like them earlier as we will be giving our Turkeys earlier. As always we appreciate your generosity. You may leave them in the box at the back of the church, at the Collaborative Office at 114 High Street, or at the Food Pantry on Thursdays from 12pm to 4pm.
Also, on Tuesday evening, October 2, the feast of our Guardian Angels, we welcome anyone who would like to help to clean up the Dining Hall at St. Francis. It will be a short meeting, starting at 7pm. I hope your Guardian Angel will whisper in your ear and we will get enough help to get this job done. If you cannot make the meeting but would like to help, please call me at 781-391-5048.
Thanks, Jerri DiClemente

St. Joseph Parish Annual Concert
Sunday, October 14th at 2pm
The music ministry invites you to join us on Sunday afternoon, October 14, 2018, at 2pm in the upper church, for our St. Joseph Parish Annual Concert. Both our Adult and Youth Choirs and The Messengers (our young adult music group) will perform, and there will be an opportunity for the audience to join with us in singing!
This year's program, entitled, "Building Bridges”, is being dedicated to Prayer for Unity…in our communities and in the world…, and will once again consist of a varied program of sacred, classical and popular selections. A portion of the proceeds from our concert ad book will be donated to “UnityWorks” Foundation, a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote understanding of the oneness of humanity, the value of diversity, and the need for unity - with a focus on education and schools.
There will be a luncheon in the social center following the concert, catered by Carroll's Restaurant in Medford (kindness of parishioner, Attorney Victor Garo). Please note: when you arrive for the concert, you will receive a voucher which will enable you to attend the luncheon.
We urge you to take this opportunity to come and join our choirs and instrumentalists in a prayerful and playful musical celebration! For more information, please email Betsy at [email protected] or call 781-781-396-0423 x125 (office) or 617-335-8155 (cell).
