Several Eames Plastic Side Chairs mounted on a crossbar are ideal for waiting areas.

The version with connectors for linking the chairs is also available with seat and row numbers.

The chairs with four-legged bases without padding can be stacked 14 on top of each other.

The various bases give each Plastic Chair a different look. The chairs which are suitable for outdoor use have dark grey legs.

The padded shells feature black or white piping.

Dimensions

All measurements are in mm and inches, established pursuant to EN 1335-1 Seat heights for versions with a padded seat are approx. 20 mm higher.

Charles & Ray Eames presented their designs for the Plastic Chair Group for the first time at the International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design sponsored by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1950, the Plastic Side Chair and the Plastic Armchair were the very first industri-ally produced plastic chairs to hit the market. From the very start, the Eameses designed different bases for a range of applications and the Plastic Chair became an icon of furni-ture design. In addition to domestic living spaces, millions of them are used in offices, health care institu-tions, restaurants, lecture halls, air-ports and sports stadiums.

ComfortThe organically-shaped plastic seat shell guarantees relaxed, comfortable seating, and is also available fully upholstered.

VarietyThe seat shell is available in 8 different colours and can be combined with a fully-upholstered seat in 13 different colours. There are five different bases to choose from and a wide range of individual combi-nation possibilities the Plastic Side Chair with a powder-coated base is suitable for outdoor use.
