The boats with diesel engine have a long tail propeller system without gearbox, which affects their maneuverability. The kerosene run engines consume more fuel and pollute the water affecting the marine life adversely. In general, the cost of fuel is about 75 - 80% of the total cost of operation and due to steep increase in fuel cost, fishing has become highly uneconomical. In these circumstances it is very essential to have a better technology or equipment to reduce cost of operation in traditional fishing sector. Product: To overcome the above problems, Innovator has developed a reversible reduction gearbox and a manually tiltable Z-drive system for small capacity diesel engine. The use of this system reduces the daily fuel consumption and thereby the cost by about 60 to 70% (as compared to kerosene run marine engines) by enabling them to shift from a kerosene run outboard engine system to a diesel powered inboard engine system. It is absolutely pollution free as compared to the conventional kerosene/petrol engines. Technical Specifications Reduction Gear a) 2 : 1 and b) 3.3 : 1 Key Competitive Advantage: Manually tiltable Z- drive propeller Speed: 17-18 km/h for 34 feet fishing boat Four types of gearboxes ranging from 1.5 hp to 30 hp Saves 60 to 70% fuel consumption compared to kerosene run marine engines Absolutely pollution free as compared to the conventional kerosene/petrol engines Smooth power transmission, reduces loss of power through horizontal shaft power transmission and better maneuverability The reverse gears acts as brake & helps in parking and facilitates in taking short curve while turning.
