The battalion was held up by CCrtE column which was belng slowed down by numerous blown bridges ~nd road blocks Being unable to move unit remained at Lohr until 0830 the 6th of April during which time o Co was sent to outpost Gemunden

At 0830 6 April 1945 the battalion Jumped off 1n the attack Moved rapidly along route against spotty enemy opposlt10n At 2030 the battallon stopped for night at Munster

At 0545 C 00 attacked Hunsbach th1s town belng cleared by 0700 Un1t then cont1nued attack along route meeting light to moderate reSistance Co A leading At 1205 Co A while clearing town ofshyGressthal was subjected to heavy artillery and mortar concentrations During this time the battalion commander Major Arthur J R1chards was slightly wounded Major William T Higgins Jr battalion executive ofticer was wounded and had to be evacuated Atter clear1ng town oolumn was balted for the night in the town of Gressthal

8 April 1945 the battalion was assembly1ng and resupplylng in the town ot Gressthal

1400 9 Aprll 1945 this battalion moved to Ostheim via Bad KissingenMunnerstadt and Neuustadt arr1ving at 1845 It remained here untl1 1815 11 April Then it moved to forward assemblyarea viclnity of Streutdorf

0630 12 April C Co crossed L D and attacked to the south tollowed by column The battalion proceeded as tar as the Main river where it was held up by blown bridge At 0701 13 Apr11 moved across br1dge built by A-125 under Lt Dillard and proceeded forward A Co leading against no opposition arriv1ng at Rothmansthal at 1303 At 1700 the battalion moved to the vic1n1ty Fernreuth arrlving at 2000 The batta110n remained here pick1ng up numerous prisoners from the town and surround1ng woods Durlng th1s per10d 0 Co was sent to Crussen to aid 94th Rcn 1n guard1ng PWs Attack by 20 Sps and Inf Attack dr1ven off At 0630 15 Apr1l the batta110n moved from Fernreuth to new area at Buchenbaoh A Co plus A-25 leading column and outshyposting Kaltenthal 16 April still in Buchenbach Platoon Co A placing post on Auto Babn cutt1ng It

Following morning moved to take over position at Bittenhofen closing at 1215 A Co led in this march

1430 Liaison officer orders battalion move to Wendelstein and relieve elemellts of 106 Cavalry Group in that zone and protect flank of 45th Div which was attacking Nurenburg The route to this area was Deinschwanz Reichelshofen Stockelsberg Altdorf Weinhof Pengenhof and Feucht A 00 led this march The battalion closed in at Leerstetten C Co in Rednitzheinsbach A 00 in Schwand

April 17th and 20th the battalion spent in Leerstetten 21 April0600 the battalion attacked to the south 0 Co in the lead meeting very little resistance At 1000 took Hilpoltstein and assembled there awaiting further ardera from CCRtt

At 1200 message from CO OCrtR ordering one 00 to be sent to the aid of 25th Tk En whioh was meeting stiff resistance at Allersburg

22 April the battalioll was still in Hilpolstein bull

23 April at 0815 the battalion moved to attack to the south C Co leading At 0930 our eolumn held up by 47th Tk column at pyraa After numerous Ron missions on different roads of suitable routes could not be found by 94th Ren At 1710 0 Co attacked town of Stout after heavy artillery preparation At 1830 the town was reported olear and outposted for the night the remainder of the battalion staying in Eysolden At 2200 the 14th Armored Division was transferred to the 3rd Corps 3rd Army

24 April at 0645 the battalion attacked to the sOuth with Ingolstadt a8 the objective The battalion proceeded as far as the Altmuhl river where it was held up by blown bridges

25 April was spent in town of H1rnstetten awa1ting completion of bridge

At 1030 battalion moved from Hirnstetten crossing river and proceeded to obJect1ve where it encountered very little oppos1tionThe battalion olosed in Mai11ng at 1715

27 April the batta110n moved to Ingolstadt to take over police and holding of town

The battalion was held up by CCrtE column which was belng slowed down by numerous blown bridges ~nd road blocks Being unable to move unit remained at Lohr until 0830 the 6th of April during which time o Co was sent to outpost Gemunden

At 0830 6 April 1945 the battalion Jumped off 1n the attack Moved rapidly along route against spotty enemy opposlt10n At 2030 the battallon stopped for night at Munster

At 0545 C 00 attacked Hunsbach th1s town belng cleared by 0700 Un1t then cont1nued attack along route meeting light to moderate reSistance Co A leading At 1205 Co A while clearing town ofshyGressthal was subjected to heavy artillery and mortar concentrations During this time the battalion commander Major Arthur J R1chards was slightly wounded Major William T Higgins Jr battalion executive ofticer was wounded and had to be evacuated Atter clear1ng town oolumn was balted for the night in the town of Gressthal

8 April 1945 the battalion was assembly1ng and resupplylng in the town ot Gressthal

1400 9 Aprll 1945 this battalion moved to Ostheim via Bad KissingenMunnerstadt and Neuustadt arr1ving at 1845 It remained here untl1 1815 11 April Then it moved to forward assemblyarea viclnity of Streutdorf

0630 12 April C Co crossed L D and attacked to the south tollowed by column The battalion proceeded as tar as the Main river where it was held up by blown bridge At 0701 13 Apr11 moved across br1dge built by A-125 under Lt Dillard and proceeded forward A Co leading against no opposition arriv1ng at Rothmansthal at 1303 At 1700 the battalion moved to the vic1n1ty Fernreuth arrlving at 2000 The batta110n remained here pick1ng up numerous prisoners from the town and surround1ng woods Durlng th1s per10d 0 Co was sent to Crussen to aid 94th Rcn 1n guard1ng PWs Attack by 20 Sps and Inf Attack dr1ven off At 0630 15 Apr1l the batta110n moved from Fernreuth to new area at Buchenbaoh A Co plus A-25 leading column and outshyposting Kaltenthal 16 April still in Buchenbach Platoon Co A placing post on Auto Babn cutt1ng It

24 April at 0645 the battalion attacked to the sOuth with Ingolstadt a8 the objective The battalion proceeded as far as the Altmuhl river where it was held up by blown bridges

25 April was spent in town of H1rnstetten awa1ting completion of bridge

At 1030 battalion moved from Hirnstetten crossing river and proceeded to obJect1ve where it encountered very little oppos1tionThe battalion olosed in Mai11ng at 1715

27 April the batta110n moved to Ingolstadt to take over police and holding of town
