Golf Course Superintendent This month we will be having some frost delays. On mornings we have frost, we cannot give an exact time on when the frost will be

gone, we can only give an estimated time of when it will be gone. We will start on #10 on mornings with heavy frost. The back 9 receives sunlight sooner than the front. Some days we will ask

you to skip hole 15 as it is one of the last holes to see sunlight on the back 9. Please do not walk on greens that have frost as this

will cause damage to the greens. We will do our best to get play started as soon as possible. We will be closing hole #3 to cart

traffic starting at the 250 yard marker until spring. Thanks for your understanding and for your help with ball marks, filling div-

ots and raking bunkers

Robert Reid, GCSAA Golf Course Superintendent

Chef’s Corner It's good to have Linda back in the Grill. She has been out follow-ing the death of her mother recently. Our sincere condolences to Linda and her family. Jean did a great job filling in while Linda was out. Thanks, Jean! Lots of functions this month, and that's what we like. Highlight will be Thanksgiving at the end of the month. We will have dual carv-ing stations with turkey and pit ham and lots of sides to comple-ment the meats. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to serving you this month!

Executive Chef John Deschler, CIA

“Thursday Night Birthday Night”

November 7th: If your birthday is in November, you get your meal for 1/2 price and receive a complimentary dessert!

Fall has officially arrived, and the course couldn’t be in better condi-tion. The greens are rolling fast and true, and the grass is still green awaiting the first frosts of the season. Some new fall apparel from Footjoy and Under Armour has arrived to keep you warm on the cool-er days ahead, so stop by the shop and check it out! Club Championship The Club Championship took place on October 26th and 27th. Dan Anderson’s two day total of 3 under was enough to hold off Lennie Younce to claim the Senior Club Championship. In the Men’s Championship, Justin Pennell paced the field on day one with an opening 71 to lead by 3 shots over Mark Mayberry. After a shaky start to his second round, he rebounded to shoot

another 71 to defend his title and win by 10 shots over Rob Winkler. Thank you to all the participants who competed in this year’s event.

Staff News Please give a warm welcome to our newest addition to the Golf Staff, Alex Meyers. Alex is our new Assistant Professional. He is excited to be a part of the team and is looking forward to pursuing his passion in becoming a golf professional at Cedar Rock. He comes to us with experience at Hope Valley Country Club in Durham, NC. He will be a valuable asset, as we continue to offer great service and develop new and creative golf programs for you and your family. Pleas stop by and introduce yourself when you get a chance.

Unfortunately, as we add new staff to the team, we say goodbye to someone who has been a fixture at the club since he was a child. Tanner Tucker will be leaving us to join the Coast Guard. His polite manner, respectful attitude, and

sense of humor will be greatly missed. We are proud of him as he embarks on the journey to serve our country and we wish him the best of luck.

Sincerely, Robert Nowak, PGA Head Golf Professional
